Narrative
On 07/19/2026, 1 was working uniformed patrol in a marked police car as 3R15. At approximately
2253 hours, I was dispatched to a follow-up report regarding a hit-and-run collision at the
intersection of 108th Ave SE/SE 180th St, which is located within the city limits of Renton,
County of King,Washington.
The original accident was reported to have occurred around 2208 hours. I attempted to contact
the victim at this time to no avail.
At approximately 2253 hours, the victim had called back wanting to speak with the police.
I was able to speak to the driver and sole occupant of Unit 2, as described in the former, over the
phone. He described the following:
Unit 2 stated he was driving southbound on 108th Ave SE, in lane#2,just north of SE 180th St.
He had mentioned that the light had just turned green to allow southbound traffic on 108th Ave
SE to proceed. Unit 2 then mentioned that the front end of Unit 1 struck the rear side of his
vehicle.
Unit 2 then described that Unit 1 proceeded to switch lanes into lane#1 to continue southbound
on 108th Ave SE and did not stop to exchange information with Unit 2.
From what Unit 2 could recall, he mentioned that the vehicle appeared to be dark green. He also
saw a "ranger" bumper sticker on the vehicle's rear bumper. He did not see the driver at this
time.
Unit 2 stated that an uninvolved witness had dash camera footage of the incident and provided
it to him. I saw in the call notes of the original call made at 2208 hours that a witness named
"Kyle Grafstrom" also called the police and mentioned he had dash camera footage to provide
the police. I attempted to call Kyle directly to no avail.
Unit 2 stated that he was able to drive his vehicle home under its own power. Unit 2 also stated
that no airbags had deployed inside his vehicle, that he was uninjured, and that he was wearing
his seat belt.
This incident occurred in the sCity of Renton,King County,Washington State.

Unit 2 stated he would provide the police with pictures of the damage to his vehicle and the
dash camera footage that the witnesses provided to him. I sent him an Evidence.com link to
upload the pictures/videos.
I reviewed the photos and videos that the driver of Unit 2 provided. They depict the following:
The photos I viewed were of the damage to Unit 2's rear bumper.There was minor damage. I saw
that there was a minor dent in the rear bumper area.
The videos I viewed are from the witness's vehicle that was directly behind Unit 2.According to
the video, the suspect vehicle involved in this incident is a darker-colored 2012 Hyundai
Veloster(WA/CEW2567,VIN/KMHTC6AD7CU069723)-hereinafter as Unit 1.The video captures
as Unit Vs front end slowly rolls and strikes the rear end of Unit 2 just north of SE 180th St in the
southbound #2 lane of 108th Ave SE. Unit 1 then proceeded to switch into lane#1 and continue
southbound on 108th AVE SE. From the looks of the video, the collision appeared to be relatively
Low speed.
I also checked for traffic cameras in the area that may have captured the accident,to no avail.
At this time, I asked the Kent Police Department(KPD)to conduct a knock-and-talk with the
registered owner of the Veloster to obtain insurance and driver information during the time of
the collision.They later got back to be and advised that the registered owner of the vehicle was
not driving the vehicle at the time of the collision. She mentioned that an unknown friend was
driving the vehicle.The registered owner also mentioned that she did not have motor vehicle
insurance. KPD provided the registered owner of Unit 1 with the Renton PD incident number and
mentioned that the driver would reach out to police later.At this time,the driver of Unit 1 has yet
to contact Renton PD.
At this time,this report is for informational purposes only to document the collision at the
request of Unit 2.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, it appears that Unit 1 is the proximate cause of the
collision.
This concludes my report.
