EH23117 CASE# 26-5739 OF COLLISION 07/22/26 21:43 OF CbLLI510N NARRATIVE 26-5739 Narrative The following occurred in the City of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. On 07/22/2026 at about 2148hours I was dispatched to a possible DUI Collision on NE Sunset Blvd at Union Ave NE. A different, recent Hit and Run Collision to a parked vehicle at 812 Kirkland Ave NE had been reported at 2137 hours. I called the RP on that collision to see if there was any paint transfer on his vehicle which may indicate the color of the suspect vehicle. He stated that there was not, there was just a lot of black marks. Upon arriving on the DUI collision, I contacted the occupants of V-1 and V-2 standing behind the vehicles which were pulled into the parking lot of 4033 NE Sunset Blvd. The driver of V-2 identified himself as Xingyu Gu with a photo of his WADL. Gu stated that he was traveling eastbound on NE Sunset Blvd in the #2 lane. He stopped his vehicle for traffic at a red light west of Union Ave NE and then was struck from behind by V-1. He stated that he was not injured. The front seat passenger of V-2 identified herself as Jane Torres. She later stated that the driver of V -1 was the only occupant and the person they were with when I contacted them, now identified as the registered owner of V-1, Jose Tziquin Ixtos. Gu and Torres showed me the damage to their vehicle on the right rear bumper. There was a distinct square notch pulled out of the bottom of the bumper that matched up to the left front frame of V-1 that was protruding through its front bumper. This indicated to me that the vehicles were offset when they collided. I also noticed extensive damage to the right front quarter panel of V-1. This damage appeared fresh but did not correlate with V-2. As I was taking pictures of the damage, I noticed that there was silver paint transfer from another vehicle onto the metal front bumper of V-1. Stuck in between the right front rim and tire was a small piece of silver painted plastic. This appeared to be from whatever vehicle Tziquin Ixtos struck prior to this collision. I turned this piece over to Officer Paget and asked her to see if it matched up to the victim vehicle in the Hit and Run, case #26-5740. She took the piece and was able to match it up to the rear bumper of the victim vehicle in that case. The height of the split on that bumper where the piece came from was approximately 22". The height of the rim on Tziquin Ixtos's truck was also approximately 22". The damage on the two vehicles matched up and the paint color on V-1's bumper matched that of the victim vehicle in that case. It should be noted that that collision occurred just blocks away from Tziquin Ixtos residence and in between his residence and the second collision location. See Officer Paget's report for further details. Tziquin Ixtos was identified with his WA ID Card. A record check showed him clear, NOT LICENSED - ELIGIBLE. Atchison spoke with Tziquin Ixtos, who denied being involved in the collision. Tziquin Ixtos did not have a registration or proof of insurance. Officer Atchison developed probable cause to arrest Tziquin Ixtos for DUI. See Officer Atchison's report for further details. This incident was captured on my Axon body worn video camera.
