NARRATIVE
On June 18th, 2026 at approximately 1552 hours, I was dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at the
intersection at Sunset Blvd N and Bronson Way N, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King,
State of Washington.
Upon arrival, I contacted the involved parties and determined that no one sustained any injuries.
While on scene, I collected the involved parties driving documents and their independent recollection
of events leading up to the collision.
The driver of Unit 1, Undra M. Hollingsworth, said he was traveling southbound on Sunset Blvd N and
approaching Bronson Way N. Undra stated he was traveling directly behind Unit 2 and saw as Unit 2
had come to a stop for queued traffic at the upcoming intersection. Undra stated that he believed Unit
2 was moving forward. Unit 2 was not moving, so simply was unable to stop in time and subsequently
collided with the rear of Unit 2 causing moderate damage to the front of Unit 1.
The driver of Unit 2, identified as Jimmy Yee, said he was also traveling southbound on Sunset Blvd
N and approaching Bronson Way N. While Unit 2 was stopped for queued traffic, Unit 1 collided with
the rear of Unit 2 causing moderate damage to the rear of Unit 2.
The driver of Unit 1 (Undra) was not paying attention to traffic in front of him. He violated Renton
Municipal Code (RMC) 10-12-25 -Inattentive Driving which is defined as any person to drive a motor
vehicle on any public highway, street, alley, or road in an inattentive manner in the City of Renton.
"Inattentive manner" in this section means a lack of: 1) attentiveness required to safely operate the
vehicle under the prevailing conditions, including, but not limited to, the nature and condition of the
roadway, the weather conditions, the presence of pedestrians, the presence of other traffic, or by the
driver focusing or directing the driver's attention to something other than driving the motor vehicle; or
2) attentiveness that would permit the driver of a motor vehicle to observe anything resting on, or
traveling on, or entering the roadway in time to take appropriate action as circumstances require.
(Ord. 4462, 7-25-94, eff. retroactive to 7-1-94; Ord. 5635, 11-14-11).
Based on the above statements, I determined that the Driver of Unit 1 (Undra) is the proximate cause
for the collision due to inattention causing a collision. He should have been paying closer attention to
the movement of traffic in front of him.
I cited Undra via mail for Inattention, no valid operator's license, failure to initially register his vehicle,
and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Both involved vehicles were able to be driven away
without further incident. An exchange of information was provided to all involved parties.
