NARRATIVE
#26-5615
Unless otherwise noted, all events took place in the City of Renton, in the County of King, in the State
of Washington.
This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and in-car cameras. This report is a
summary of events that occurred and is not an exact sequencing of events.
On 07/18/2026 at approximately 1148 hours I was dispatched to a non injury, blocking accident at the
intersection of NE 12th St and Harrington Ave NE in the city of Renton, King County, WA.
Unit#1 was a maroon 2023 Ford Mustang Mach E with WA LIC CNJ7445 (VIN:
3FMTK3R4XPMA88962). The driver of unit 1 was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was wearing their
seatbelt, and had no injuries.
Unit#2 was a white 2009 Chevrolet Malibu with WA LIC CDU9928 (VIN: 1 G1ZG57B1 9F220550). The
driver of unit 2 was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was wearing their seatbelt, and had no injuries.
Roadway conditions were dry with clear skies at the time the collision occurred. Unit#1 was able to
remove it self from the roadway. Unit#2 was also able to remove itself from the roadway.
Driver#1 of Unit#1 stated he was traveling west bound on NE 12th St. He said he was familiar with
the area and was lost in thought as he remembered a time in his youth when he played sports against
McKnight Middle School which is at the intersection. He stated he was going approximately 25mph
and did not see the stop sign for the 4 way intersection. He proceeded through the intersection
without stopping and was hit by Unit#2 in the rear driver side door of his vehicle.
Unit#2 was traveling north bound on Harrington Ave NE. Driver#2 was stopped at the stop sign and
as she proceeded through the sign stated she collided with Unit#1 in the rear driver side door. The
front bumper of the vehicle came completely off but was able to be removed from the roadway
without a tow truck.
Pictures of the collision were uploaded to Axon from my department issued cell phone.
Both drivers had insurance for their vehicles. An exchange of information was provided to each of
them.
At the conclusion of my investigation, I determined that Unit#1 was the proximate cause of the
collision as they failed to stop at the 4-way intersection.
If Unit#1 had not entered the occupied roadway, then this collision would not have occurred.
Unit#1 was issued Sector citation #6A0345443 for failing to stop.
This concludes my report.
