This incident was captured on my body worn video camera and/or in-car dash camera due to the
sensitive circumstances. This report is a summary of events that occurred and is not an exact
sequencing of events.
On Wednesday July 22nd, 2026, at approximately 15:47, 1 responded to a 911 call regarding a hit
and run collision at South 3rd St and Williams Ave South within the City of Renton, King County,
Washington. Several witnesses reported seeing a vehicle hit a parked car and flee the area.

CASTANOVA/WITN/Y 206-483-8630. NISSAN'S RIGHT REAR TIRE IS ON RIM.
When I was dispatched, I was already in the area, so I decided to look for the vehicle that fled. I
located the vehicle in front of 1017 Bronson Way South, the vehicle had damage to the front right
wheel and driving on the rim as described in the call from witnesses. I also noticed the front airbags
were blown. There was a male sitting in the driver seat with the door open who was later identified via
his WAID as Martin Castro Adame (DOB:11.11.1980). Martin's vehicle was a 1998 Nissan Maxima
with Washington license CUR6371.
I contacted Martin who reported the following; a vehicle pulled out in front of him while he was driving
and he swerved to avoid hitting it which caused him to the vehicle that was parked. He panicked and
drove to the location. Martin had an injury to his left arm and complained of pain to his face and back.
Martin was later transported to Valley Medical Center for his injuries.
Martin admitted to driving the vehicle and hitting the parked vehicle. Martin also had injuries
consistent with being in a vehicle crash. Martin also had belongings on the passenger seat and back
bench making it impossible for anyone to sit. A witness later identified as Mykaela L. Haus (DOB:
12.08.2004) described Martin to Officer M. Nugent which matched the description of Martin.
Martin did not have vehicle insurance and his DOL status was suspended/revoked 3rd degree. He
also handed me a Washington identification card instead of a driver's license.
Based on the circumstances, Martin admitting to driving and hitting the parked vehicle, and Mykaela
witnessed the crash, I determined there was probable cause for Martin for committing the following
offences;
RCW 46.52.010.1- HIT/RUN UNATTENDED VEHICLE
RCW 46.20.342.1 C- DWLS 3RD DEGREE
Since Martin was transported to the hospital, I determined not to book him into jail, instead I
completed a SECTOR criminal citation and forwarded it to the prosector for filing. I informed Martin I
was issuing him a citation.
I also issued Martin a traffic infraction for the following offences;
RCW 46.20.015-NO VALID OPER LICENSE WITH VALID ID
RCW 46.30.020- OP MOT VEH W/OUT INSURANCE
After I completed my contact with Martin, I responded back to the original scene. The vehicle Martin
hit was a black 2018 GMC Acadia with Washington license plate CUS5096. Officer M. Nugent was
able to locate a phone number for the registered owner Teresa F. Garibay (DOB: 9.17.1979).
Martin's vehicle was moved into a parking spot by a friend. Teresa's vehicle had damage to the front
left wheel but was still legally parked. Teresa indicated she would arrange for a tow at a later time
when she was off work. I provided Teresa with a business card with the case number.
This concludes my involvement in this case.
