Special site features: None
Proposed use: Interior remodel for use as an indoor badminton club with 12
badminton courts, restrooms and supporting facilities.
Access/Parking: 77 on-site parking stalls accessible from Lind Avenue South and
South 7th Street.
Justification for Parking Modification Request:
Badminton America Renton is a membership-based sports club that
offers lessons as well as drop in play during operating hours: 5 PM
to 10 PM weekdays, and 8 AM to 10 PM weekends.
a. A Parking Study was conducted by Gibson Traffic Consultants
(attached) showing a parking demand of 43 stalls. The site (with
new striping) will provide a total of 77 parking stalls. The proposed
temporary use and associated parking has minimum impact on the
policies and objectives of the Comprehensive Plan Land Use
Element and the Community Design Elements.
b. The proposed parking count (77) will meet the objectives and

safety intended by the Code requirements.
c. The proposed parking count exceeds projected quantity and will
not impact parking on other properties in the vicinity.
d. The proposed parking count conforms to the intent and purpose
of the Code.
e. The proposed parking count (77) far exceed what was required
for the use (43 stalls) based on the Parking Study (attached).
f. No adverse parking impacts are projected or anticipated to other
properties in the vicinity
