By sta#e law#he City is authorized ("discretionary") but n�t required ("mandatory")ta pro�ide parks, by state law it is ("mandatory"J to pro�ide Fire, Police, utilities. Q: Do other ci#ies have same serrrice levels as Renton? Q: Can you expand an changing demographics in Renton? Staff re�iews and analyzes#he data for future programs and activities. - � - Q: WiEI there be an expansion of arts and culture funding? Funding was pro�ided in the 2017-2018 budget, and funding for the Z019-2020 budget wil! be re�iewed. 4. Introduction and O�erview of Three C�re Parks Plannin� Documents—Kelly Beymer/Leslie Betlach 2011 Parks, Recreation and fVatural Areas Plan, 2017 Ci�ic Core Alan, 2018 Trails and Bicycle Pian (pending appraval by CouncilJ were revEewed. Deeper Di�e into Asset Graups, Part 1: Parks—Kelly Beymer/Leslie Betlach Re�iewed: • Adopted Budget Warksheet--showing development, maintenance and planning for current assets, � Capital & Operations Cost Model —a�other taol that can be used ta determine cri#eria � Development Timeline—New Develflpment project5 (3+years from master plan, design and construction, more if environmental canstraints in�ol�edJ;5ho�el Ready prajects (2+years, more if en�ironmental constraints in�ol�ed) � Grant funding&challenges—Grants are highly competiti�e and are not guaranteed funds.Twa of the three �lans re�iewed are "certified," allowing the City to apply for state and #ede�al grants.
