Austin St., Seattle, WA 98118 I Kuan Tao Cultural Center PRE 18-000112 711 Monroe Ave NE, Renton WA 98056 Date: 9/17/18 Planner: Jill Ding Response to Comments from 9/10/18 Comment #2 (See Sheet L1.1) A 10ft wide fully site obscuring landscape barrier has been provided along common property lines where possible. The only area where the 10ft depth is not possible is along the South side of the building, where the proposed Fire Stairs are located. The Fire Stairs are necessary for circulation, as well as a step- stone path connecting the stairs to the parking area. In the comments from the Pre-application Meeting from March 8, 2018 it was stated: Except for critical areas, all portions of the development area not covered by structures, required parking, access, circulation or service areas, must be landscaped with native, drought-resistant vegetative cover. Thus it seems reasonable that the landscape buffer is modified in this location to allow for access and circulation. Please note that a solid 6ft wood fence is part of this fully sight-obscuring 10ft visual barrier, along with shrubs and ground cover/ grass. The North side of the building has been modified to allow for the 10ft depth. END
