PREVENTION PLAN (SWPPP) MEETING STATE REQUIREMENTS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE NPDES GENERAL CONSTRUCTION PERMIT. THE TESC
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION "STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD, BRIDGE, AND MUNICIPAL CONSTRUCTION", 2012 AND AS AMENDED BY
MEASURES SHALL THEN BE IMPLEMENTED CONSISTENT WITH THE CONTRACTOR -PREPARED SWPPP.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THESE ESC PLANS AND THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, REPLACEMENT, AND UPGRADING OF THESE ESC

ALL WORK SHALL BE SUBJECT TO THE INSPECTION OF THE CITY ENGINEER OR DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE.
FACILITIES IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE APPLICANT/ESC SUPERVISOR UNTIL ALL CONSTRUCTION IS APPROVED.

PRIOR TO BEGINNING CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MEET WITH THE CITY ENGINEER FOR A PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE.

THE ESC FACILITIES SHOWN ON THIS PLAN MUST BE CONSTRUCTED PRIOR TO OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL CLEARING AND GRADING SO

OBSERVATION OF SURFACE FEATURES, PAINT MARKS APPLIED BY AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY LOCATING SERVICE, POTHOLING OF SOME UTILITIES,
AND RECORD SCHEMATIC DRAWINGS. UTILITIES SHOWN IN THESE DRAWINGS ARE FOR THE PURPOSES OF ASSISTING THE CONTRACTOR WITH
LOCATING UTILITIES. CONTRACTOR SHALL FIELD LOCATE AND POTHOLE ALL UTILITIES WITHIN PROPOSED EXCAVATION LIMITS UNLESS OTHERWISE
DIRECTED BY CITY. CONTACT UNDERGROUND UTILITY LOCATE SERVICE (1-800-424-5555) A MINIMUM OF 48 HOURS PRIOR TO ANY
EXCAVATION TO OBTAIN ON -SITE UTILITY LOCATIONS. POTHOLING SHOULD BE DONE AT LEAST TEN (10) WORKING DAYS IN ADVANCE OF WORK
IN THE AREA. TAKE PRECAUTIONS AND REMEDIAL MEASURES THAT MAY BE REQUIRED TO PROTECT PERSONS AND PROPERTY AND TO AVOID
DISRUPTION OF SERVICE. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, PROTECT ALL UTILITIES FROM DAMAGE WHICH SHALL INCLUDE PROVIDING TEMPORARY
SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND SHORING AROUND UTILITIES DURING EXCAVATION. IF AN EXISTING PRIVATE UTILITY CONFLICTS WITH PROPOSED
IMPROVEMENTS, COORDINATE THE RELOCATION OF THE PRIVATE UTILITY WITH THE UTILITY OWNER UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE.
8. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLY WITH ALL PERMITS AND ALL OTHER REQUIREMENTS BY THE CITY OF RENTON. SEE APPROVED PERMITS AND
PERMIT REQUIREMENTS IN THE PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS.
9. EXISTING UNDERGROUND WATER LINE BENDS AND BLOCKING ARE NOT SHOWN.
5. THE ESC FACILITIES SHALL BE INSPECTED DAILY BY THE APPLICANT/ESC SUPERVISOR AND MAINTAINED TO ENSURE CONTINUED PROPER
FUNCTIONING. WRITTEN RECORDS SHALL BE KEPT OF WEEKLY REVIEWS OF THE ESC FACILITIES DURING THE WET SEASON (OCT. 1 TO APRIL
30) AND OF MONTHLY REVIEWS DURING THE DRY SEASON (MAY 1 TO SEPT. 30).
1. UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE, RESTORE AND ADJUST ALL UTILITY CASTINGS TO FINAL GRADE.
RESTORE PAVEMENT MARKINGS WITHIN AREAS DISTURBED BY CONSTRUCTION.

4. WHERE EXISTING CONCRETE CURBS, GUTTERS, SIDEWALKS, DRIVEWAYS, AND RAMPS ARE
REMOVED OR DAMAGED DURING EXCAVATION, THEY SHALL BE REPLACED. CONTRACTOR SHALL
REPLACE CONCRETE SIDEWALK, CURB AND GUTTER TO THE NEAREST FULL DEPTH EXPANSION
JOINT, OR IF ALLOWED BY ENGINEER, TO THE NEAREST CONTROL JOINT WHERE CONCRETE
MUST BE SAWCUT. REPLACEMENT CURB, GUTTER, SIDEWALK, RAMPS, AND DRIVEWAYS SHALL
MATCH EXISTING DIMENSIONS. CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE SUFFICIENT MEASUREMENTS OF
LOCATIONS AND THICKNESSES TO REPLACE IN KIND. A MINIMUM 4" THICK COMPACTED BASE
OF CSBC IS REQUIRED UNDER ALL REPLACED CURB, GUTTER, SIDEWALKS, AND RAMPS
UNLESS DIRECTED OTHERWISE BY THE ENGINEER.
6. ANY AREAS OF EXPOSED SOILS, INCLUDING ROADWAY EMBANKMENTS, THAT WILL NOT BE DISTURBED FOR TWO DAYS DURING THE WET

SEASON OR SEVEN DAYS DURING THE DRY SEASON SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY STABILIZED WITH THE APPROVED ESC METHODS (E.G., SEEDING,

8. THE ESC FACILITIES ON INACTIVE SITES SHALL BE INSPECTED AND MAINTAINED A MINIMUM OF ONCE A MONTH OR WITHIN FORTY-EIGHT (48)
OTHER PAVEMENT MARKS SHALL BE REPLACED. IN KIND AS PER THE CONTRACT DOCUMENTS.

10. CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PREPARATION OF TRAFFIC CONTROL PLANS. CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT PLANS TO THE ENGINEER 9• AT NO TIME SHALL MORE THAN ONE (1) FOOT OF SEDIMENT BE ALLOWED TO ACCUMULATE WITHIN A CATCH BASIN. ALL CATCH BASINS
FOR APPROVAL PRIOR TO IMPLEMENTATION. SEE TRAFFIC CONTROL REQUIREMENTS IN SECTION 1-10 IN THE SPECIAL PROVISIONS. EXCEPT FOR AND CONVEYANCE LINES SHALL BE CLEANED PRIOR TO PAVING. THE CLEANING OPERATION SHALL NOT FLUSH SEDIMENT -LADEN WATER INTO

12. STORM SEWER LENGTHS ARE MEASURED BETWEEN CENTERS OF MANHOLES AND CATCH BASINS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
10. WHERE STRAW MULCH FOR TEMPORARY EROSION CONTROL IS REQUIRED, IT SHALL BE APPLIED AT A MINIMUM THICKNESS OF 2 TO 3
INCHES.
11. NO STOCKPILING/STAGING WILL BE CONDUCTED WITHIN THE RIGHT OF WAY OR CITY OWNED SITE. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR
OBTAINING ITS OWN STOCKPILE/STAGING AREAS.
13. EXCEPT AS OTHERWISE NOTED, CATCH BASIN AND MANHOLE RIM ELEVATIONS GIVEN WITHIN PAVED AREAS ARE APPROXIMATE. FINAL ELEVATIONS 12. PUBLIC STREETS SHALL BE CLEANED ONCE PER DAY OR AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY. FLUSHING OF STREETS WITH WATER WILL NOT BE

15. FOR BEDDING AND BACKFILLING AROUND EXISTING OR NEW UTILITIES USE CDF WHERE STANDARD METHODS DO NOT PERMIT COMPACTION
REQUIREMENTS TO BE MET, AS SHOWN ON THE DWGS, OR AS DIRECTED BY ENGINEER.
16. FIELD LOCATE AND POTHOLE ALL UTILITIES LOCATED WITHIN PROPOSED EXCAVATIONS. PROVIDE INFORMATION ON EXISTING UTILITY TO ENGINEER
TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO ANY UNDERGROUND WORK NEAR THE UTILITY.
17. SITE CONSTRUCTION LIMITS (PRESERVATION LINES) COINCIDE WITH CITY RIGHT-OF-WAY UNLESS SHOWN OTHERWISE.
22. SEGMENTS OF THE WORK MAY BE PERFORMED UNDER ELECTRICAL OVERHEAD POWER LINES. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO
