CONSTRUCTION NOTES
DSEE PAVEMENT OVERLAY EXTENTS AND REQUIREMENTS ON
DWGS C13 AND C14.
CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL A GEOTEXTILE FABRIC OVER THE
NATIVE SOILS AND UNDER THE PIPE ZONE BEDDING IN
AREAS WHERE THE SUBGRADE SOILS IN THE TRENCH
EXCAVATION CONSIST OF FINE—GRAINED SOILS SUCH AS SILT,
CLAY, OR ORGANIC RICH SOILS, AS DIRECTED BY THE
ENGINEER.
FOR CROSSING AT STA 18+20, BACKFILL BETWEEN THE (2)
36" PIPES WITH CDF FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE PIPES TO
THE TOP OF THE PIPES. THIS MAY REQUIRE THE PIPE
BEDDING TO BE PLACED IN TWO LIFTS: FIRST LIFT BELOW
THE SPRINGLINE AND SECOND LIFT ABOVE THE SPRINGLINE.
SEE SECTION DETAIL ON DWG C15.
REMOVE APPROXIMATELY 12" OF UNSUITABLE FOUNDATION
MATERIAL AND REPLACE WITH NEW MATERIAL WHERE
REQUIRED BY ENGINEER. UNLESS OTHERWISE DIRECTED BY
ENGINEER NEW MATERIAL SHALL BE QUARRY SPALLS.
IF UNSUITABLE MATERIAL IS ENCOUNTERED CONTRACTOR
SHALL REMOVE UNSUITABLE SOILS AND REPLACE WITH
COMPACTED PERVIOUS BACKFILL AS DIRECTED BY ENGINEER.
CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCING NOTES
1. BNSF WILL REMOVE TRACKS AND CONCRETE PANELS (BNSF
WILL PROVIDE OWN EQUIPMENT AND LABOR FOR THIS WORK
AND MOVE MATERIALS TO NEARBY BNSF RIGHT—OF—WAY
OUTSIDE OF THE SW 7TH STREET RIGHT—OF—WAY).
2. CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE PAVEMENT ADJACENT TO THE
CONCRETE PANELS IN ADVANCE OF THIS WORK IF
REQUESTED BY CITY.
3. FOLLOWING REMOVAL OF TRACKS AND CONCRETE PANELS,
CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL TEMPORARY BACKFILL AND
PAVEMENT PATCH TO RESTORE TRAFFIC.
4. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROCEED WITH PIPELINE INSTALLATION.
5. FOLLOWING PIPELINE INSTALLATION AND BACKFILL,
CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE TEMPORARY PAVEMENT PATCH
FOR TRAFFIC.
6. PRIOR TO BNSF RE —INSTALLING TRACKS, CONTRACTOR SHALL
REMOVE TEMPORARY PATCH AND BACKFILL TO SUBGRADE
ELEVATION, AND PLACE COMPACTED SUBBALLAST LAYER TO
ELEVATION SHOWN ON PLANS AND AS REQUIRED BY BNSF.
7. BNSF SHALL THEN PLACE BALLAST AND INSTALL THE TIES,
TRACKS, AND CONCRETE PANELS.
8. FOLLOWING TRACK INSTALLATION, CONTRACTOR SHALL
REMOVE/GRIND ADJACENT PAVEMENT AND PLACE HMA PATCH
TO PROVIDE A SMOOTH TRANSITION.
