If I need to send a courier to pick up copies I can do that. Otherwise email PDF is fine.
I’ll also keep you in the loop as to what we recommend the client do. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we can figure out how to get this done by keeping the engineer of record the
same.
Thanks!
Tom

Hi Tom,
The short answer is yes we can get you the documents we have, including the comment letters, and grant a 30 extension. The reviewer is in the field today but will return in the morning,
I’ll get with him and we will the materials together and send you an update.
Thanks,

Importance: High
Hello Wally,
I’m being asked again to help with another problem project. I think you are familiar with it. The Canyon Terrace 192nd Improvements. I guess people are trying to make use of me
before I retire in a couple of years. J
I’m sorry to lean on you again but from what I know of the history of this plat that got annexed into Renton but has some frontage improvements yet to build that are already bonded for,
I think it’s probably in the best interest of King County to get these plans approved and the improvements constructed, hopefully before the coming wet season. Since the plat is recorded
and a bond is posted for the improvements, I’m not sure what the recourse is for KC or the client if the permit is allowed to expire. I guess KC could make a demand on the bond but
I doubt you guys want the headache of building these improvements.
The problem is that Bryan White is apparently having trouble getting their consultant to respond to the last set of review comments in a timely manner. I’m not sure of all the reasons
and I’m guessing it’s complicated so I’m definitely not throwing them under any bus. I’m just passing on what I know.
Bryan is asking that BCE take over on this specific ROW use permit. I do not like taking over for another engineer in the middle of a job since it generally means we have to create
a new plan set and take ownership of it with our seal. That is a lot of extra work for no reason if the corrections are minimal. I also won’t take over the work of another engineer
if there is a legitimate dispute over payment for services rendered. I have yet to figure that one out and I’ve told Bryan that I would prefer that we “help” the current engineer get
the resubmittal made.
Unfortunately I don’t even know what the county review comments are.
Is it possible for us to get a copy of the marked-up plans that were returned to the engineer, along with any pertinent correspondence? This would all be public record so it isn’t privileged.
Bryan does not have a copy and apparently cannot get one from his engineer easily.
If I can get a look at the revisions I can better tell if it’s a big deal to respond to, OR if it’s just minor comments. Then I can better advise on how to proceed.
Unfortunately this isn’t going to be done by July 13th in any event so I would also hope you could approve another extension of at least 30 days. If I can get a set of the county comments
I can at least determine quickly which way Bryan needs to go to get this done. If it can’t be done in 30 days I’ll know that too.
Sorry for the long-winded email but I wanted to explain the situation.
Let me know if you can get me a set of the marked up plans/county comments, and grant another 30 day extension.
Thanks very much!
Tom

Please call me when you get a chance.
