GENERAL NOTES
1. All work and materials shall be in accordance with the latest edition of the City of Renton Standard Specifications,
and WSDOT/APWA Standard Specifications, latest edition.
2. Prior to any construction activity, the contractor shall schedule and attend a pre -construction conference with
the City of Renton Construction Inspection Division.
-3. An approved plan set must be on the job site whenever construction is in progress.
4. All site work improvements shall be constructed in accordance with approved plans. Any deviation from approved
plans will require prior approval from the owner, engineer and appropriate public agencies.
5. It shall be the sole responsibility of the contractor to obtain street use and any other related permits prior to
any construction activity.
6. All locations of existing utilities shown hereon have been established by field survey or obtained from available
records and should therefore be considered approximate only and not necessarily complete. It is the sole
responsibility of the contractor to independently verify the accuracy of all utility locations shown and to further
discover and avoid any other utilities not shown hereon which may be affected by the implementation of this plan.
The contractor shall contact the Underground Utilities Location Service (1-800-424-555) at least 48 hours prior
to construction. The owner or his representative and the engineer shall be contacted immediately if conflicts exist.
7. Locations of roadways, buildings and parking areas shown hereon are approximate. Improvement and structure
locations shall be field set by the surveyor/engineer as required.
8. Any approved cuts of existing public roadways shall be backfilled and compacted in accordance with City of
Renton Standards. All cuts into existing asphalt shall be along neat, continuous, sawed, or wheel cut lines. A
temporary cold mix patch must be placed immediately after backfill and compaction. This existing road shall be
replaced with at least 3 inches of compacted CL "B" asphalt concrete, 6" crushed rock surfacing top course (5/8
inch minus), as required dependent upon a soils engineer's recommendation and tests. In no case shall the
replacement be less than the existing section.

EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL NOTES Juiv
1. Approval of this erosion and sedimentation control (ESC) plan does not constitute an ap aG #V
of permanent road or drainage design (e.g., size and location of roads pipes, restrictors, channels
retention facilities, utilities, etc.).
2. The implementation of these ESC plans and the construction, maintenance, replacement, and
upgrading of these ESC facilities is the responsibility of the applicant/ESC supervisor until all
construction is approved.
3. The boundaries of the clearing limits shown on this plan shall be clearly flagged by a continous
length of survey tape (or fencing, if required) prior to construction. During the construction period,
no disturbance beyond the clearing limits shall be permitted. The clearing limits shall be
maintained by the applicant/ESC supervisor for the duration of construction.
4. The ESC facilities shown on this plan must be ~constructed prior to or in conjunction with all
clearing and so as to ensure that the transport of sediment to surface waters , drainage systems,
and adjacent properties is minimized.
5. The ESC facilities shown on this plan are the minimum requirements for anticipated site
conditions. During the construction period, these ESC facilities shall be upgraded as needed for
unexpected storm events and modified to account for changing site conditions (e.g., additional
sump pumps, relocation of ditches and silt fences, etc.).
6. The ESC facilities shall be inspected daily by the applicant/ESC supervisor and maintained to
ensure continued proper functioning. Written records shall be kept of weekly reviews of the ESC
facilities during the wet season (Oct. 1 to April 30) and of monthly reviews during the dry season
(May 1 to Sept. 30).
7. Any areas of exposed soils, including roadway embankments, that will not be disturbed for two
days during the wet season or seven days during the dry season shall be immediately stabilized with
the approved ESC methods (e.g. seeding, mulching, plastic covering, etc.).
Y8. Anyir(I: needing ESC measures that do not require immediate attention shall be addressed
within fifteen (15) days.
9. The ESC facilities ,on inactive sites shall be inspected and maintained a minimum of once a
month or within forty eight (48) hours following a storm event.
10. At no`Ytime shall more than one (1) foot of sediment be allowed to accumulate within a catch
basin. All catch basins and conveyance lines shall be cleaned prior to paving. The cleaning
operation shall not flush sediment -laden water into the downstream system.
11. Stabilized construction entrances and roads shall be installed at the beginning of construction
and maintained for the duration of the project. Additional measures, such as wash pads, may be
required to ensure that all paved areas are kept clean for the duration of the project.
12. Any permanent flow control facility used as a temporary settling basin shall be modified with
the necessary erosion control measures and shall provide adequate storage capacity. If the facility
is to function ultimately as an infiltration .system, the temporary facility must be graded so that
the bottom and sides are at least three feet above the final grade of the permanent facility.
13. Where straw mulch for temporary erosion control is required, it shall be applied at a minimum
thickness of 2 to 3 inches.
14. Prior to the beginning of the wet season (Oct.1), all disturbed areas shall be reviewed to
identify which ones can be seeded in preparation for winter rains. Disturbed areas shall be seeded
within one week of the beginning of the wet season. A sketch map of those areas to be seeded
and those areas to remain uncovered shall be submitted to the DDES inspector. The
DDES inspector can require seeding of additional areaas in order to protect surface waters, adjacent
properties, or drainage facilities.

THE CITY OR THE PROJECT ENGINEER TO ADDRESS SEASONAL CONSTRUCTION ISSUES.
7. INSTALL SITE UTILITIES, INCLUDING WATER, SANITARY SEWER, AND STORM DRAINAGE
IMPROVEMENTS PER THE APPROVED PLANS.
8. COMPLETE BUILDING, LANDSCAPE AND STABILIZED EXPOSED SURFACES,

IS REPLACEMENT OF DEAD PLANTS AND PLANTS SHOWING LOSS OF 40 PERCENT OR MORE OF
CANOPY.
IRRIGATION MAINTENANCE:
THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM TO BE MAINTAINED INCLUDING ADJUSTMENTS FOR BALANCED WATER
DISTRIBUTION AND PRECIPITATION. FAILED OR MALFUNCTIONING IRRIGATION EQUIPMENT SHALL BE
REPLACED AND/OR CORRECTED. PLANTING AND IRRIGATION MAINTENANCE TO INCLUDE THOSE
