3) BIDDER QUESTIONS
a) Bidder Inquiry No.9- On A32, detail 1 and 2 show canopies whose structural details
could not be found. Will structural details be provided?
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.9- Drawing Sheet S10 Canopy Details has
been attached to Addendum #3.
b) Bidder Inquiry No73- Please confirm that door D13 is the assembly shown in details
16&17/A50.
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.73—The door D13 (gate as noted on
Drawings) is the assembly shown in details 16 & 17 on sheet A50.
c) Bidder Inquiry No.74- Please confirm the extents on the GWB beam wrap indicated in
16/A50 by noting it on the level 2 RCP.
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.74— Drawing Sheet Al2 has been revised
to include extents of GWB wrap at the beam.
d) Bidder Inquiry No.75- 5/#09 indicates full length welds for the plate and angle on the
collector. There is concern that this much heat will warp the collector out of spec. Will
skip welding be acceptable?
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.75—Skip welds at 2:6 spacing with welds
shown in the contract drawings are acceptable.
e) Bidder Inquiry No.76-The metal screen in D/S06 prevents the use of straps to hoist the
trusses into place. The spec calls for shop painting of the trusses with no onsite touch-
ups. Please confirm that permanently installed erection aids will be allowed on the top
of the trusses as their removal would require touching up of paint in the field.
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.76— Field touch-up is allowed per
specification Section 09 96 00 - 3.03(A)2 and 09 96 00—3.04.
f) Bidder Inquiry No.77- Please clarify the existing hardware on doors#07, 08, and 09 and
state whether any hardware changes are expected for these doors.
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.77— Doors 07, 08 and 09 are existing
doors and will remaining as is. No work to the hardware shall be expected at these
doors.
g) Bidder Inquiry No.78- Floor infill structural and extents. The only place this is indicated
on the plans is in detail 16/A50. There are no structural drawings to tell us how to infill
the floor. The location and extents are not indicated on the floor plans. On the second
floor, is this part of the stairwell and what are the expected finishes? We have no
architectural work on the 3rd and 4th floor, but maybe we are filling in at the 3rd —are
we filling in the 4th? What are the floor finishes up there? Are there walls moving

around the hoist-way enclosure? I don't know what I need to do and I have no way to
talk through with subs what I expect them to do. Also, I have no way of knowing that
other GC's are even including this work.
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.78— Please refer to addendum No.4 for
clarification.
h) Bidder Inquiry No.79-Types and extents of finishes and repairs in the 3rd and 4th floors
for work on those levels. This is partially led by the in-fill questions above, but the plans
don't clearly indicate any work other than window changes and MEP rerouting at these
levels. However, when we remove the windows in L3, but the plans don't show any in-
fill of the wall —should we leave the openings, exposing the backside of our new
exterior system or infill, and with what? What are the finishes is those upper areas that
we need to repair? There is a data/equipment room that we need to carry out demo
and repair work around but the equipment layout isn't indicated. The fairest manner for
us to bid this work is for all bidders to have a clear understanding, from the documents,
what is expected.
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.79— Please refer to addendum No.4 for
clarification.
i) Bidder Inquiry No.80- Inquiry set #1, question #28 indicates that the Owner anticipates
construction to start 3rd week of June 2019. The 2019 ATCT Proposal document states
that we must enter in a contract within 10 days; Inquiry set#1, question #44 states that
NTP will be issued with 5 days. A bid day of 4/9 with the 15 days added would put
construction start at May 1, 2019. Please explain the June start date expectation.
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.80—The proposal states that contract
award or bid rejection will occur within 45 calendar days after the opening of the bids.
That puts us at May 24th for contract to be signed. Then we would have 5 days to issue
a NTP. Then we are anticipating 2-3 weeks for mobilization and schedule review.
j) Bidder Inquiry No.81-08 33 00 2.2.A.1 defines the overhead coiling door as motor-
operated, however there do not appear to be controls or power supply indicated on the
electrical drawings. Please clarify whether this grille is to be motorized and its
circuiting/controls.
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.81— Please refer to addendum No.4 for
clarification.
k) Bidder Inquiry No.82-The checklist calls for "G. Proposal Signature page" is the page
three of 00 00 03 the Bid Proposal Form, or is it a signature page to 00 80 00.9 that I
cannot locate?
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.82—This is referring to the third page of
00 00 03.

01 paragraph 1.9.g.2.d was removed. Technical Specification Section 00 00 01
paragraph 1.9.g.2.e was removed.
m) Bidder Inquiry No.84-Will the liquidated damages stated be Owner's sole remedy for
damages?
City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.84—The liquidated damages is only
intended to cover the items in section 011140 1.4.

City of Renton Response to Bidder Inquiry No.85— No.
