Grady Way CALL TO ORDER AND PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mayor Law called the meeting of the Renton City Council to order at 7:00 PM and led the Pledge of Allegiance. ROLL CALL Councilmembers Present: Don Persson, Council President Randy Corman Ruth Perez Armondo Pavone Ed Prince Councilmembers Absent: Ryan Mclrvin Carol Ann Witschi MOVED BY PERSSON, SECONDED BY PRINCE, COUNCIL EXCUSE ABSENT COUNCILMEMBERS RYAN MCIRVIN AND CAROL ANN WITSCHI. CARRIED. ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF PRESENT Denis Law, Mayor Robert Harrison, Chief Administrative Officer Leslie Clark, Senior Assistant City Attorney Megan Gregor, Deputy City Clerk Kelly Beymer, Community Services Administrator Jennifer Henning, Planning Director Chief Ed VanValey, Police Department Administrator Commander Jeff Hardin, Police Department PROCLAMATION a) American Legion Centennial Day - March 15, 2019: A proclamation by Mayor Law was read proclaiming March 15, 2019 to be American Legion Centennial Day in the City of Renton, encouraging all citizens to join in this special observance. Commander Bruce Welder (Ralph B. Welder) accepted the proclamation with thanks. MOVED BY PRINCE, SECONDED BY CORMAN, COUNCIL CONCUR IN THE PROCLAMATION. CARRIED. March 11, 2019 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES ADMINISTRATIVE REPORT Chief Administrative Officer Robert Harrison reviewed a written administrative report summarizing the City's recent progress towards goals and work programs adopted as part of its business plan for 2019 and beyond. Items noted were: • Come meet Renton Police Officers at Coffee with a Cop. The mission is to break down barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood. The next Coffee with a Cop will take place on Wednesday, March 13 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Vince's Coffee, 401 Olympia Avenue NE in Renton. AUDIENCE COMMENTS Diane Dobson, Renton, shared concerns regarding the safety of crossings at the Williams St. and Wells St. conversion project, as well as concerns related to the purchase of private property along the Cedar River Trail. CONSENT AGENDA Items listed on the Consent Agenda were adopted with one motion, following the listing. a) Approval of Council Meeting minutes of March 4, 2019. Council Concur. b) AB - 2337 City Clerk reported bid opening on February 20, 2019 for the Renton Avenue South Resurfacing project, CAG-19-001, and submitted the staff recommendation to award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder R.W. Scott Construction Co., in the amount of $1,585,247.60. Council Concur. c) AB - 2338 Community Services Department requested authorization to hire an Urban Forestry and Natural Resources Manager at Step E of salary grade m32. Council Concur. d) AB - 2336 Community Services Department recommended adoption of an ordinance to dissolve the Renton Library Advisory Board and its membership by repealing Chapter 2-13 of the Renton Municipal Code. Refer to Community Services Committee. MOVED BY PERSSON, SECONDED BY CORMAN, COUNCIL CONCUR TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA, AS PRESENTED. CARRIED.
