HomeMy WebLinkAboutIDRFR9-2-09 IDR Sheet of Sheets Final Record Book Page Contract 7624 Day Wednesday Date 9/2/09 Benson Road Merlino crew used a dozer, track hoe and earth mover to excavate native material from the east side of the roadway . An earth mover hauled this material across the roadway and used it for backfill on the west side of the road. (Above Talbot Hill Rd.) Traffic control was set-up north and south bound on Benson Road. Two flaggers stopped traffic for four or five minutes in order for the earth mover to dump soil. In the afternoon, this material was transported to the conveyor belt and traffic control was removed from Benson Road. WSDOT Exchange Property City Transfer and Merlino crew on site to continue to place native soil from the Rolling Hills excavation. This material was transferred via conveyor belt where a track hoe loaded two earth movers for placement. Laborers cut and placed geogrid for the first lift at Elev. 175 ft. A track hoe and small dozer placed 1 ft. of common borrow on top of geogrid between Sta. 11+75 to 13+00. Care was taken not to track the equipment on the geogrid. A roller was on site for compaction. The drainage ditch at the bottom of this slope has already been cut. Met Dan Quehl, Mayes Testing, site inspector. We discussed how the contractor was proceeding with the slope reinforcement. Dan said his compaction tests have passed. Ken Viren has tested compaction, daily. Looked at cross section plan of slope reinforcement with Dan and Matt, Merlino foreman. Slope was being built per plan. A track hoe placed quarry spalls along the roadway shoulder NB/I-405 and the bottom of the slope. A Baker Tank arrived on site.
