Benson Road Bridge
Pier 1 and Pier 2 - Soil Nails
9:00 – Wayne Broughton and Malcolm Drilling crew on site to continue drilling and
placing a second row of soil nails along Benson Road. Al Emter and Tim of Mayes
Engineering, on site to monitor installation process.
10:30 – Finished placing and grouting 35 ft. soil nails in Wall 1 and 8 ft. nails in Wall 2.
Started installing steel mesh for the second level.
12:30 – Stoneway truck on site to start placing shotcrete against Wall 1. A sample block
was made for later cores.
WSDOT Exchange Property
Terra-Dynamics crew on site to place compost on side slopes. Two side-dump trucks
placed material.
11:00 – Talked to Dan Quehl about dust cause by increasing winds that were blowing
into residential across Cedar St. He talked to Merlino about spraying water on stockpiles
and access road.
