Pier 2 – Soil Nail Proof Test
8:30 - Tom Robinson, Mayes Engineering, on site to monitor proof testing of soil nail
#35 in Row #2. Rod was stressed to 24.4 Kips, elongation was .451 inches and returned
to .005 inches.
Lance Rasband and Malcolm crew on site to drill 6” holes for threaded rods in row 3.
10:30 – 35 ft. rods were placed in holes and wire mesh installed.
Joel Theodore and Kim Mugg, CBD designers on site.
WSDOT Exchange Property
Terra-Dynamics crew on site to place compost on side slopes. Two side-dump trucks
placed material. Dan Quehl, Mayes Engineering, on site.
City Transfer crew continued to place soil and geogrid at Elev. 217. Track hoe,
earthmover, and dozer transferred soil delivered by conveyor belt to the reinforced slope.
Thunder Hills Creek Culvert and Mine Drainage
Merlino crew and Hitachi track on site to continue trenching for 18” pipe run DR03/34.
Kevin Hill, Mayes Engineering, on site. He said that the wrong pipe was placed on run
DR03/34. HHPE pipe was installed, but plans call for 18” PVC pipe. Kevin said
Merlino will remove HHPE pipe, today and replace it. Most of this run to existing
structure DR03/E10 was already installed.
