All work, materials, and measurements to be in accordance with the provisions of
the Standard Specifications and Special Provisions for the type of construction
involved.
This contract is revised as follows:
Any references to provisions of Division 1 of the Standard Specifications
contained herein shall be deemed to refer to the appropriate provisions of
the Request For Proposal (RFP) and other Contract Documents. Any references
to Prime Contractor or Contractor contained herein shall be deemed to refer
to the Design -Builder.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
This "Category B" Change Order is in accordance with Section 1-04.4 of the
RFP. This Change Order augments the Standard Specifications to allow the use
of Modified Common Borrow as specified in this Change Order as backfill
material for a reinforced slope.
DESI(V REQUIREMENTS:
The preparation and approvals of the necessary Released for Construction
Plans and Specifications for all of the cork described herein shall be in
accordance with the RFP and the approved Design Quality Management Plan.
The Engineer of Record shall review and approve any use on this project of
the Modified Common Borrow specified in this Change Order on this Project.
OCNSTRUCIION REQUIREMENTS:
The construction requirements for all items related to this Change Order
shall be in accordance with the appropriate Standard Plan, RFP and Released
for Construction Plans and Specifications as revised by this Change Order.
MATERIALS REQUIREMENTS:
All documentation for approval and acceptance for material incorporated into
this project through this change Order shall be in accordance with Sections
1-06 and 2.25 of the RFP prior to payment.
All backfill material used in the reinforced soil zone of the geosynthetic
reinforced slope shall be free from organic or otherwise deleterious material
and shall conform to the gradation for Common Borrow, except that the percent
passing a No. 200 sieve shall be no greater than 35 percent, and the SE shall
be 15 percent minirmn. The material shall be substantially from shale or
other soft, poor durability particles, and shall not contain recycled
materials, such as glass, shredded tires, Portland cement concrete rubble, or
asphaltic concrete rubble. The backfill material shall meet the following
requirements:

Reinforced slope backfill material satisfying these gradation, durability and
chemical requirements shall be classified as nonaggressive.

No specific unit of measurement will apply for this Change Order.
PAYMENT:
This Change Order shall be at no additional cost to the State, including
incidental costs, incurred by the Design -Builder due to the work described
herein.
CONTRACT TUVE:
This Change Order does not impact contract Time.

Attached for your signature is Change Order #8, Modified Common Borrow, which revises
Chapter 2 and Appendix B2 of the RFP to change the material specifications to allow modified
common borrow to be used as backfill material in a reinforced slope. This Change Order is a
no -cost Change Order, and does not impact Contract Time.
