CALL FOR BIDS
Maplewood Creek and Madsen Creek Sediment Basin Cleaning Project 2019

Sealed bids will be received until 2:30 p.m. Monday, July 1, 2019, at the City Clerk's office, 7th floor
and will be opened and publicly read in Conference Room #511 on the 5th floor, Renton City Hall,
1055 South Grady Way, Renton WA 98057, for the Maplewood Creek and Madsen Creek Sediment
Basin Cleaning Project 2019.
The work to be performed within 25 working days from the date of commencement under this
contract shall include, but not be limited to: Removing accumulated sediment from the Maplewood
Creek Sediment Basin and Madsen Creek Sediment Basin approximately 1,000 cubic yards from each
basin. Other works include constructing a flow bypass dam and diverting each creek into an existing
bypass pipe, hauling and disposing of the sediment off-site, removing and adjusting rock berms,
restoring flow to the sediment basin and removing the bypass dam, vegetation and channel
maintenance in the Maplewood channel, restoration, hydroseeding and cleanup at each basin.
The Contractor will need to comply with the requirements of the Washington State Hydraulic
Project Approval, and Army Corps of Engineers Nationwide Permits.
The estimated project cost is$110,000 to$160,000.
The City reserves the right to reject any and/or all bids and to waive any and/or all informalities.
Bid documents will be available June 14, 2019. Plans,specifications, addenda, and the plan holders
list for this project are available on-line through Builders Exchange of Washington, Inc., at
http://www.bxwa.com. Click on "bxwa.com"; "Posted Projects", "Public Works", "City of Renton",
"Project's Bidding". (Note: Bidders are encouraged to "Register as a Bidder," in order to receive
automatic email notification of future addenda and to be placed on the "Bidders List."). Should you
required further assistance, contact Builder Exchange of Washington at(425) 258-1303. Bidders are
not to contact the City of Renton or the Engineer to obtain bidding documents.

A certified check or bid bond in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total of each bid must
accompany each bid.
