and two NIV thefts. Ikea 1601 SW 41# M was also identified as a hotspot with a MV theft, MV prowl, and
Recovery OSA Stolen Vehicle occurring. An area that was previously identified as a hotspot throughout the month
of May for MV prowls and theft in previous years is the area surrounding Larkspur Landing (1701 E Valley Rd),
TownePlace Suites (300 SW 19- St), Springhill Suites (200 SW 191e St), and Hilton Garden Inn 11801 E Valley Rd).

Graffiti Abatement Program
Report Restore Prevent
Under the direction of the Police Department, this program
will support the City's efforts to reduce graffiti, through
public education, community empowerment, agency
coordination, prompt/continual graffiti eradication, and
aide in the enforcement of RMC 6.29.

Reduce graffiti incidents throughout the City of Renton
• Community outreach and education
• Leveraging Social Media to transmit Program information
• Increase coordination between city departments, utilities, business
community, and school district
Remove graffiti quickly from public spaces
• Outreach to private owners, and business
• Coordinating with City departments, and Utilities
• Recruiting citizen volunteers to clean authorized properties
Aide in enforcement of RMC 6.29
• Take in reports of graffiti
• Maintain database and GIS mapping of incidents
• Compile monthly reports to track graffiti trends and aide RPD in
determining where increased patrol attention is needed
• Coordinate graffiti tracking with other jurisdictions
• Leveraging current technology to identify and charge graffiti vandal
• Assist in identifying graffiti suspects when possible

The Graffiti Abatement Volunteer program offers both adult and teen
volunteer opportunities.
Volunteers are recruited through the graffiti abatement website, new flyers,
Nextdoor, Community Services website, and referrals from other departments
that engage volunteer service.
Volunteers are supervised by Graffiti Abatement Coordinator
Graffiti Abatement Program has partnerships with PSE and Republic Services
to clean properties with company provide materials
Volunteer will be engaged in cleaning graffiti as reports come into Graffiti
Abatement Coordinator. They will be tasked with reporting graffiti as they
move through the city.
Large cleaning events will be planned as need emerges, and in partnerships Z
with neighborhood groups and/or City programs n
