i. Front Desk, volunteer binder, please sign in anytime you attend a meeting for the
Senior Advisory Board with how many hours you have volunteered. This will be our
tracking system for volunteer hours that will be given to our City of Renton
Volunteer Coordinator.
d. Veterans, Seniors, Human Services Levy (VSHSL) Grant application
i. Submitted grant last week (May 24), we asked for$1.8 million. Hire 2 new staff
members, Aging Resource Coordinator & Outreach and Engagement Specialist
ii. Classes—Evidence-based Wellness and Chronic Disease Management classes;
contract with Valley Cities Behavioral Health for individual counseling sessions and
group workshops.
iii. There are roughly 39 Senior Centers in King County and only 14 will receive this
grant
iv. Will find out end of July 2019 to see if we have received grant
e. Parks Commission Meeting Agenda
i. Will have a booth tomorrow at the Farmer's Market

The Health Coach program is a one-year commitment which entails:
1. A 2-credit training course at Renton Technical College in Fall
2019—TUITION FOR THE HEALTH COACH CLASS WILL 0R
PAID BY VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER
2. A three-quarter, non-credited community service program:
Winter 2020 through Summer 2020 in collaboration with
Valley Medical Center's Highlands Clinic.
If accepted in to the program, Health Coaches will have access to
exclusive training and the opportunity to engage with galley Medical
Center staff and providers. Upon successful completion of the
year-long program, Health Coaches will qualify for$1,500 in
scholarship funds to continue their healthcare education.

Please note that this is a selective admissions program where applicants will be
screened and potentially asked to partake in a brief interview with RTC and VMC
faculty before acceptance in to the program.Applicants must be 18 years or
older by January 1,2020.
