Greetings, Ms. Sirotinsky,
As requested, Earth Solutions NW, LLC has prepared this letter for the proposed building setback
modification on Lot 3. According to the referenced plans, the Lot 3 residence will be set back
about seven and one-half feet from an existing stormwater utility line (utility) to the east. The
utility was installed about four feet below existing grade.
Our field observations, as summarized in the project daily field reports, indicate medium dense
(or denser) conditions were achieved for the lots on site, including the utility backfill. The suitably
dense soil conditions will support future temporary excavations (if necessary) to reach the utility,
assuming a typical one horizontal to one vertical (1H:1V) inclination. Further, the Lot 3 footings
are set back sufficiently to avoid surcharging the utility. In summary, it is our opinion the proposed
setback modification is feasible from a geotechnical standpoint and will affect neither the Lot 3
residence nor the utility.
