HomeMy WebLinkAboutRS_BulkheadWallStability_190612_v1.pdf 06/12/2019 SRM Renton, LLC Attn: Andy Loos 720 6th Street South Suite. 200 Kirkland, WA Re: Bulkhead Wall Stability Addendum Dear Mr. Loos: DCI Engineers completed a stability review of the existing bulkhead wall at the proposed site for the Cedar River Apartments located at 1915 SE Maple Valley Highway in Renton, Washington. Based on information provided by Terracon Consultants in their report “Bulkhead Wall Stability Addendum” dated June 10, 2019, and per the attached calculations, we have found the bulkhead wall to be stable with a minimum factor of safety of 1.3. Through findings reported in the geotechnical addendum and limited visual observation we found no evidence of deterioration or movement of the bulkhead wall, nor have we found any evidence to suggest impending failure under normal loading conditions. The new development will not increase loading to the existing wall and therefore additional steps to decrease pressures behind the wall or structurally reinforce the wall are not required.
