SUBJECT/TITLE: Temporary Road Closure of North 3rd Street at Logan Avenue North

FISCAL IMPACT:

SUMMARY OF ACTION:
The intersection of Logan Avenue North and North 3rd Street will be completely reconfigured. The existing
curve, which carries one-way traffic from northbound Logan Avenue North onto one-way eastbound North 3rd
Street, needs to be reconstructed. Due to the significant grade differences between the current roadway
elevation and finished grade of the new road section (2-3 feet lower) it is not possible to maintain traffic
through the curve during construction of the new roadway alignment.
This portion of project construction will include excavating the new path of North 3rd Street, installing the
roadway base, paving and connecting it to Logan Avenue North at the west end and existing North 3rd Street
at the east end and is expected to take three weeks. However, to allow for contingencies or unexpected
conditions or occurrences, a 4-week consecutive closure period is being requested.
