Follow up to 5/6/2019 Finance Committee:
1. Thermatech NW, $7,280,.63, 200 Mill Asbestos Study
a. Question: What kind of study is this, what was the outcome and how is it different from ALTA survey
done by Mead Gilman and Associates (#2 below)?
b. Answer: This was a good faith asbestos study, where approximately 170 random core samples were
taken throughout the 200 Mill building. The study was done in connection with the purchase and sale
negotiations for the 200 Mill building. Thermatech found several areas of asbestos and also provided an
estimate for remediation in the areas asbestos was found, which was approximately $400k.
2. Mead Gilman and Associates, $9,150, 200 Mill ALTA Study
a. Question: What kind of study is this?
b. Answer: An ALTA survey is a comprehensive boundary survey which includes property boundaries,
locations of improvements, structures, fences, utility lines, and roads.

2. AssetLab Marketing, $8,850
a. Question: What kind of work are they doing? Is this a one‐time payment?
b. Answer: The original contract with AssetLab was for $5,788 (paid) for the development of the business
directory, community calendar, and one year maintenance of the core health and wellness website –

A contract addendum for $2,650 (paid) for walking maps and $8,850 for the development and prepaid
annual website maintenance for VisitRentonWA.com, RentonDowntown.com, and WhyRenton.com –

To‐date the entire $20,350 contracted amount has been paid.
3. Federal Eastern International, $37,133.80, SC Omega Plates.
a. Question: What are Omega plates?
b. Answer: Omega plates are ballistic plates are worn with soft body armor and supply officers with
significantly increased ballistic protection. These omega plats are part of the active shooter kits
budgeted for as part of the 2019 budget.
