HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdmin Report EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT M E M O R A N D U M DATE: August 5, 2019 TO: Don Persson, Council President Members of Renton City Council FROM: Denis Law, Mayor Robert Harrison, Chief Administrative Officer SUBJECT: Administrative Report  Public Works Street Maintenance and Community Services Forestry Divisions will be doing an emergency tree removal for public and road user safety on Maple Valley Highway on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. The location is across the street from the former Stoneway yard next to Cedar River Park. City staff, signal trucks, and other heavy equipment will gather at the pullout immediately past the work area on the down-valley side at 8:30 a.m. The signs will be deployed at 9:00 a.m. The work should not take longer than 20 minutes, but there will be lane closures and some traffic delays will occur. All relevant regulatory agencies will be notified in advance.  Join the Renton History Museum Wednesday, August 7 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate American Artist Appreciation Month! Be inspired by some of the rarely seen artistic objects in our collection, and create your own masterpiece. This drop-in event is creative fun for the whole family. Don Persson, Council President Members of Renton City Council Page 2 of 3 August 5, 2019  Monday, August 5 through Friday, August 9, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Intermittent lane closures on Renton Avenue South from Taylor Avenue South to South 130th Street at multiple locations, and a full-time lane shift for approximately 200 feet in the southbound lane of Renton Avenue South between Taylor Avenue South and South 130th Street for utility and roadway construction. Questions may be directed to Patrick DeCaro at 425-207-6013.  Monday, August 5 through Friday, August 9, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single lane closures on Talbot Road South in the vicinity of Valley Medical Hospital related to the construction of the new Medical Office Building. Questions may be directed to Tom Main at 206-999-1833.  Monday, August 5 through Friday, August 9, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single lane closure on East Valley Road between SW 19th Street and Taylor Avenue SW for the I-405 Direct Connector Project. One lane of East Valley Road will remain open with flaggers directing traffic through the worksite. Full street closure of South 23rd Street immediately east of Talbot Road South and east to Morris Avenue South for a period of up to four (4) weeks in order to allow the abatement of potential hazards and repair of the sinkhole from an abandoned coal mine located under the right-of-way. Access will remain open to homes on Morris Avenue South. Questions may be directed to Tom Main at 206-999-1833.  Monday, August 5 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Intermittent single and double lane closures along Logan Avenue North between North 6th Street and near Garden Avenue North in support of the King County Eastside Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation project. Full road closure on Burnett Avenue North at North 6th Street in support of the King County Eastside Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation project. Both the City of Renton and King County’s Wastewater Division have reached out to property owners along the approved detour route and to affected parties providing advanced notification of the proposed road closure and detour route. In addition, notification was provided in the Renton Reporter and signage will be provided in the f ield prior to Don Persson, Council President Members of Renton City Council Page 3 of 3 August 5, 2019 roadway closure.
