All work materials shall be in confor -ante with the standards and specifica- tions of the City of Renton Utility Department and the latest edition of the APWA Standards and Specifications. All locations of existing utilities shown are approximate and it shall be the contractor's responsibility to verify the true and correct location so as to avoid damage or disturbance. A preconstruction conference and twenty -four hour notice will be required prior to starting new construction. 4. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to secure all necessary permits prior to starting construction. 5. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the Washington Irclustrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA). 6. inspection will be accomplished by a representative of the City of Renton. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to notify the Utility Department 24 hours in advanca of backfilling all construction. I. Types of-pipe and fittings that can be used for sanitary sewers shaft be approved by the Department of Public Works. Rubber or neoprene gaskets as specified by the manufacturer shall be used on joints. L. Call 235 -263131 far information when building sewer is ready for inspection and testing. Building sewer and side sewers shat! be tested per City specifications. Make the connection at the building. Do not backfili the ditch until approval is given by the inspector. 3. Install side sewer with 24" minimum cover. 18" cover is allowed at the building if outlet is shallow. 4. In unimproved areas, manhole to extend minimum 6" and maximum 18" above finished grade. In paved area, cover must slope in all directions to match paving. S. Manhole ring and cover to be 24" clear opening, equal to Olympic Foundry Co. No. 5822 with solid lid except for one 7/8" diameter lift hole 8;" from center. Cover shall have wording, "Sewer" for sanitary sewer. Manhole located within easement shall have bolt down (locking lid) ring and cover equal to Olympic Foundry No. 5943 WS -L. 6. Manhole shall be 48" inside diameter, S" wall thickness, to accommodate sewer pipe through 21 ". Manhole wall shall have not less than 0.12 square inch per lineal feet circumferential reinforcing steel bar. All precast sections shall conform to ASTM C -478. 7. All manhole joints use a confined round rubber gasket meeting ASTM " -443 specifications. S. All holes for inlet and outlet pipe shall be blocked out at the time of casting sections unless the walls are to be core drilled. 9. All pipe through manhole wall shall be "0" ring rubber gasket meeting ASTM C -478 specifications, in a manhole coupling equal to Johns - Manville. Manhole' wall may be core - drilled and conical type flexible seal equal to Kor -N -Seal can be installed. 1 0 .
