I.E. = 147.40 to' f 1 J NOTE.• THIS SEGMENT OF PIPE SHALL BE CLASS 52 DUCTILE IRON DUE TO WATER UTILITY CROSSING. � 1. All work and materials shall be in accordance with the latest edition of the City of Renton Standards and Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction prepared by W.S.D.O.T. and A.P.W.A. as adopted by the City of Renton Department of Public Works, and City of Renton Standard Specifications. 2. Prior to any construction activity, the contractor shall schedule and attend a pre- construc- tion conference with the City of Renton Construction Inspection personnel by phoning 277 -5570 3.A copy of these approved plans must be on the job site whenever construction is in progress. 4. All sanitary sewer improvements shall be constructed in.accordance with these approved plans. Any deviation from these plans will require approval from the owner, engineer and appropriate public agencies. 5. A preconstruction conference and a 24 hour notice shall be required prior to starting new construction. It shall be the contractor's responsibility to secure all necessary permits prior to starting construction. (Inspection will be accomplished by a representative of the City of Renton.) It shall be the contractor's responsibility to notify the utility department. 24 hours in advance of backfilling all construction. 6. All locations of existing utilities shown hereon have been established by field survey or ob- tained from available records and should therefore be considered approximate only and not nec- essarily complete. It is the sole responsibility of the contractor to independently verify the accuracy of all utility locations shown and to further discover and avoid any other utili- ties not shown hereon which may be affected by the implementation of this plan. The contrac- tor shall contact the Underground Utilities Location Service (1 -800- 424 -5555) at least 48 hours prior to construction. The owner or his representative and the engineer shall be con- tacted immediately if a. conflict exists. 7. Locations of roadways, buildings and parking areas shown hereon are approximate. For dimen- sioned locations of these improvements, refer to the architectural site plan. Improvement and structure locations shall be field set by the engineer as required. 8. All manholes shall be per City of Renton Std. Plan No. 5.1.3. All manholes outside of public right -of -way and not located in paved areas shall have soiid,.locking covers. All manholes shall 'nave a minimum 0.10 foot to maximum 1.0 foot drop between Invert In and invert out. 9. All sewer pipe shall conform to one of the following specifications. a. Ductile iron - Class 50, cement - lined, conforming to USA Standard A -21.51 (AWWA C -51) . Ductile iron pipe is required on all sewers which are less than 5 fzet deep or greater than 16 feet deep and on all runs with a slope steeper than 20 %. Pipe anchors are re- quired at least 36 feet on center for slopes 20% to 35 %, at least 24 feet on center for slopes 35% to 50 %, and at least 16 feet on center for slopes 50% and greater. b. PVC - conforming to ASTM D -3034, SDR 35, with fittings and gaskets conforming to City of Renton standards. 10. All ductile iron pipe shall have an APWA Class "B" pipe bedding. All other pipe shall have an APWA Class "F" flexible pipe bedding. 11. All trench backfill shall be compacted to at least 95% of the maximum dry density per ASTM D- 1557 -70 (Modified Proctor) , for the first three feet above the pipe. The remaining backfill may be to 90% if not in an area of future pavement or structural fill. Trench backfill and compaction shall be completed prior to testing lines for leakage. 12. All side sewers shall be a minimum G" diameter and have a minimum slope of 2.0 %. Property /lot corners and /or building locations and finish grades shall be established in the field prior to any sewer construction. Side sewer tee stations are referenced from the nearest downstream manhole. The contractor shall maintain accurate as -built records of all side sewer loca- tions. All side sewers shall be tested at the time of main line testing. 13. Where a water main crosses above the sanitary sewer, and less than 3'0" of vertical clearance exists between the top of sewer and bottom of water main, the sewer shall be constructed or re- constructed with ductile iron pipe (Class 50) for a minimum horizontal distance of 10' on each side of the water main crossing. 14. Sanitary sewer main lines (8" diameter and larger) shall not be constructed any closer than 10 feet to any building OF 5 feet to any carport. 15. ,Open cut road crossings for utility trenches -on existing travelled roadways shall be backfilled with crushed rock and mechanically compacted. Cuts Into the existing asphalt shall be neatlins cut with saw In a continuous line. A temporary' mix patch must be plccod immediately after backfl0 and compaction. Prior to acceptance of construction and /or issuance of occupancy permits, /`P�/� engineer /surveyor - certified as -built drawings must be prepared of all sanitary sewer facili- ties.
