THE LIFT STATION RECEIVES A MAJORITY OF FLOW FROM THE OPERATION OF THE FLUSHING STATION. THE FLUSHING STATION OPERATES WHEN A TIMER SWITCH TRIGGERS IT TO PUMP LAKE WATER INTO THE COLLECTION SYSTEM PIPE WHICH DRAINS INTO THE LIFT STATION. COORDINATE WITH CITY OF RENTON SEWER MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL TO HAVE THE FLUSHING STATION NON— OPERATIONAL DURING CONSTRUCTION HOURS. THE LIFT STATION MUST BE OPERATIONAL DURING NON— WORKING HOURS. 2.) EXPOSE EXISTING 6" SEWER FORCE MAIN. INSTALL WYE TO TAP PIPE. CONNECT TEMPORARY DISCHARGE PIPING WITH ISOLARON1 AND CHECK VALVES. 3.) ASSEMBLE TEMPORARY PUMPING COMPONENTS AND BACKUP EQUIPMENT. SEE TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION FOR REQUIREMENTS. TEST OPERATION OF TEMPORARY PUMPING SYSTEM. REMOVAL OF EXISTING PUMPS SHALL NOT BEGIN UNTIL TEMPORARY PUMPING SYSTEM OPERATION HAS BEEN DEMONSTRATED TO THE ENGINEER. 4.) REMOVE EXISTING PUMPS, PIPING, AND ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT FROM LIFT STATION WET WELL. PLUG END OF FORCE MAIN AT WET WELL TO PREVENT BACKFLOW. 5.) INSTALL MECHANICAL VALVE VAULT, RETAINING WALL SYSTEM, ELECTRICAL POWER AND CONTROL SYSTEMS, AND PIPING FROM WET WELL WALL THROUGH MECHANICAL VALVE VAULT TO THE FORCE MAIN CONNECTION. 6_) CLEAN WET WELL AND CONSTRUCT NEW FLOOR, RISER, AND TOP SLAB. COAT INTERIOR OF WET WELL. 7.) INSTALL RAIL SYSTEM, SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS, AND DISCHARGE PIPING IN WET WELL. &) CONNECT DISCHARGE PIPING TO EXISTING FORCE MAIN AND TEST OPERATION OF NEW PUMPING SYSTEM. 9_) AFTER TESTING IS APPROVED BY ENGINEER, NEW PUMPING SYSTEM MAY BE USED BY CONTRACTOR TO OPERATE LIFT STATION WHILE COMPLETING THE REMAINDER OF ITEMS FOR THIS CONTRACT.
