NOTES:
1. COMPLY WITH CITY OF RENTON "GUIDELINES AND STANDARDS FOR STREET LIGHTING
DESIGN OF RESIDENTIAL AND .ARTERIAL STREETS ": HEREAFTER, REFERRED TO AS "THE
STANDARD"
2, COMPLY LATEST EDITION OF THE NEC AND LOCAL CODES AND ORDINANCES.
3. SCOPE OF WORK:
A. PROVIDE ONE (1) STREET LIGHTING STANDARD WITH 40OW HIGH PRESSURE
SODIUM COBRAHEAD FIXTURE (G.E. M40OA2 FLAT LENS) ON 35' ANCHOR BASE
POLE. (SEE DETAIL SHEET)
B. PROVIDE HANDHOLE AT EACH POLE BASE WITH INTEGRAL 4" PAD OVER ANCHOR
BASE.
C. PROVIDE COMPLETE CONDUIT AND WIRING SYSTEM.
4. BURY ALL CONDUIT A MINIMUM OF 24" BELOW GRADE. ALL CONDUIT SHALL BE 1 1/2"
PVC WITH (2) #8 CU THW CONDUCTORS AND (1) #10 CU GROUND. CONDUIT SHALL BE
SCHEDULE 40 PVC. ALL NEW CONDUITS SHALL BE BURIED UNDER NEW, EXISTING AND
FUTURE SIDEWALK LOCATIONS FOR PROTECTION.
5. INSTALL GROUND RODS AND SPLICES IN J -BOXES AND IN -LINE FUSES IN HANDHOLE AT
EACH POLE.
6. LUMINAIRE - G.E. M -400A CUT OFF WITH FLAT LENS FOR 150W AND 40OW HIGH
PRESSURE SODIUM LAMP WITH REGULATOR BALLAST RATED FOR 240 VOLT OPERATION.
IES PATTERN M -S -11 OR 111. SEE SPECIFICATIONS.
7. COORDINATE INSTALLATION WITH EXISTING UNDERGROUND UTILITIES.
THE NEW POLE FOUNDATION ELEVATION MUST BE FLUSH WITH THE BACK OF SIDEWALK.
8. COMPLY WITH THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL SAFETY CODE CONCERNING REQUIRED
CLEARANCES BETWEEN NEW LIGHTING STANDARDS AND PSP &L DISTRIBUTION AND
TRANSMISSION LINES.
9. CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
A. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A REQUEST FOR MATERIALS APPROVAL AT THE
EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE.
B. AS -BUILT DRAWINGS WILL BE REQUIRED ON COMPLETION OF ALL PROJECTS.
C. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO EXISTING
UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE AFFECTED UTILITIES AND THE
CITY IMMEDIATELY UPON DAMAGE.
