GENERAL NOTES:
(1) All construction shall be In accordance with the 1994 Standard
Specifications for Rood. Bridge and Municipal Construction' prepared by
W.S.D.O.T., and the American Public Works Association (APWA), as amended
by the City of Renton Deportment of Public Works.

Road Standards (KCRS), and the King County Council's condition of

(11) Ground water system construction shall be within a right -of -way or
appropriate drainage easement, but not underneath the roadway section.
All ground water systems must be constructed in accordance with Sxiion
81 3.02 of the APWA Standard Specifications.
(12) AN utility trenches shall be baclkflled and compacted to 95X density.
(13) All roadway subgrade shall be bodkfdlled and compacted to 25X density.

(14) Open cutting of existing roadways is not allowed unless specifically
approved by the DDES and noted on these approved plans. Any open cut
shall be restored in accordance with KCRS 8.03 (B) 3.

safety devices. protective equipment, floggrs. and any other actions needed
to protect the life, health, and safety of the public and to protect property

SANITARY SEWER NOTES:
(1) All work materials shall be in conformance with the standards and specifications of
the city of Renton Utility Department and the latest edition of the WSDOT /APWA
Standards and Specifications.
(2) The hours of work in the street right of way &hall be limited to 8:30 a.m. to 3:30
p.m. an weekdays unless otherwise approved in writing by the Planning/Building /Public
Works Deportment of 235 -2620. All street closures, partial or full, shall be approved by
the Planning/BuIlding/Public Works Department 72 hours in advance. The Police
Department Fire Department, and 911 shag be notified 24 hours in advance of any work
in the right of way.
(3) All construction shdl be in accordance with 'Standard Specifications for Municipal
Public Works Construction' prepared by Washington State Chapter American Public Works
Association. latest edition (APWA) and City of Renton Standard Specifications.
(4) All locations of exuding utilities shown are approximate and it shall be the
contractors responsibility to vrify the true and correct location so as to avoid damage
or disturbance.
(5) A prddxnstruction conference and a 24 hour notice shall be required prior to starting
now construction. it shall be the contractors responsibility to secure all necessary
permits prior to starting construction. (Inspection will be accomplished by a representative
of the City of Renton.) It shag be the contractors responsibility to notify the Utility
Department 24 hours in advance of backflling all construction.
(6) Contractor is solely responsible for the means, methods and sequences of
construction and for the safety of workers and others on the construction sits.
(7) It shag be the responsibility of the contractor to obtain street use and any other
related permits prior to any construction.
(8) Plans approved by the City of Renton, Public Works Department, shall take
precedence over oil other plans.

(15) All pipe and appurtenances shat be laid on a properly prepared foundation in
accordance with Section 7- 02.3(1) of the current State of Washington Standard
Specifications for Rood and Bridge Construction. This shall include necessary leveling of
the trench bottom or the top of the foundation material as well as placement and
compaction of required bedding material to uniform grads so that the entire length of
the pipe will be supported on a uniformly dense unyielding base. Pipe bedding shall be
pea gravel 6' above and below the pipe.
(16) Sanitary sewer pipe shall be polyvinyl chloride (PVC) rubber gosketed ASTM D 3034,
SDR 35, or ductile iron class 50.
(17) In unimproved areas, manhole to extend minimum 6 inch and maximum 18 inch
above finished grade. In paved area, cover must slops in all directions to match paving.
WATER UTILITY NOTES:
