Approximate locatlons of existing utilities have been obtained from available records and are shown for convenience. The contractor shall be responsible for verifying the location of all existing utilities whether shown or not. The contractor shall call the Utility Locator Service, 1- 800 - 424 -5555, five working days prior to any construction. 2. It is the responsibility of the contractor to verify what permits have been secured if any) and to obtain and possess all required permits prior to commencing construction. 3. The contractor shall take all necessary precautions for the safety of employees on the project and shall comply with all applicable provisions of Federal, State, and Municipal safety laws and building codes. He shall erect and properly maintain, at all times, as required by the conditions and progress of the work, all necessary safeguards for protection of workmen and the public; shall post danger signs warning against known or unusual hazards; and he shall designate a responsible member of his organization on the construction site whose duty shall be the prevention of accidents. 4. All work shall be In accordance with the project specifications and these plans. 5. The locations of features and existing utilities are approximate and shall be verified in the field by the contractor. 6. The contractor shall notify all utilities regarding their facilities located within the project limits 48 hours prior to commencing work and shall coordinate his work with those utilities. The contractor shall be responsible for any damage to existing utilities and shall notify the affected utility and the City immediately upon damage. 7. It is the contractor's responsibility to give City of Renton Traffic Engineering Division 24 hour notification of work to be performed on project for Inspection purposes (phone 235 - 2620). City of Renton standard specification 8- 20.3(2), 'No work shall be covered until it has been examined by the Engineer." 8.
