ALL WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY OF RENTON STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS AND THESE PLANS AND THE LATEST EDITION OF THE STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD, BRIDGE, AND MUNICIPAL CONSTRUCTION BY WSDOT AND APWA WASHINGTON STATE CHAPTER. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO OBTAIN COPIES OF THESE DOCUMENTS. IN THE CASE OF CONFLICTS, THE STANDARDS AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THE CITY OF RENTON SHALL BE USED. 2. THE LOCATIONS OF FEATURES SHOWN ARE APPROXIMATE AND SHALL BE VERIFIED IN THE FIELD BY THE CONTRACTOR AS NECESSARY. FOR UTILITY LOCATE CALL 1- 800 - 424 -5555. 3. ALL MATERIALS SHALL BE NEW AND OF THE BEST AVAILABLE GRADE OR QUALITY, EXCEPT AS NOTED. ALL EQUIPMENT FURNISHED SHALL BE GUARANTEED AGAINST COMPONENT FAILURE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR FOLLOWING ACCEPTANCE BY THE CITY. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL SUBMIT A REQUEST TO THE CITY OF RENTON TRAFFIC ENGINEER FOR MATERIAL APPROVAL AT THE EARLIEST POSSIBLE DATE. 5. ALL WORK SHALL BE CONSISTENT WITH AFFECTED UTILITY AGENCY'S REQUIREMENTS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT ALL PERTINENT UTILITY AGENCIES FORTY -EIGHT (48) HOURS BEFORE COMMENCING WORK, AND SHALL COORDINATE THE WORK WITH UTILITIES THROUGHOUT THE PROJECT. 6. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO EXISTING UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE AFFECTED UTILITY COMPANY AND THE CITY IMMEDIATELY UPON DAMAGE. 7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE CITY OF RENTON CONSTRUCTION ENGINEERING DIVISION AT 277 -5570 FOR INSPECTION PURPOSES TWENTY -FOUR (24) HOURS BEFORE COMMENCING WORK. NO WORK SHALL BE COVERED UNTIL IT HAS BEEN EXAMINED BY THE ENGINEER. 8. CAUTION - OVERHEAD ELECTRICAL SERVICE LINES ARE NOT SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS: THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR DETERMINING THE EXTENT OF ANY HAZARD CREATED BY OVERHEAD ELECTRICAL POWER IN ALL AREAS AND SHALL FOLLOW PROCEDURES DURING CONSTRUCTION AS REQUIRED BY LAW AND REGULATInNS AND TAKE PRECAUTIONS THAT MAY BE REQUIRED. MINIMUM CLEARANCE FROM OVERHEAD POWER TO THE STREET LIGHT STANDARDS IS 10 TO 16 FEET, DEPENDING ON VOLTAGE. 9. MAINTAIN CLEARANCES FROM SUCH FEATURES SUCH AS PROPERTY LINES, LOCATION OF DRIVEWAYS, FIRE HYDRANTS AND ANY OTHER FEATURES. MINIMUM CLEARANCE FROM DRIVEWAYS SHALL BE 10 -FEET, MINIMUM CLEARANCE FROM CURB 30- INCHES. 10, ALL CONDUCTORS FOR STREET LIGHTING SHALL HAVE TYPE USE -RHH (XLP) INSULATION. CONDUCTOR INSULATION FOR PHOTO CELL CIRCUIT SHALL BE THHN. 11. CONTINUITY AND MEGGER TESTS SHALL BE CONDUCTED AND ANY DEFECTS NOTED SHALL BE CORRECTED BEFORE FINAL ACCEPTANCE OF THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM FOR STREET LIGHTS. 12. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL COORDINATION WITH THE POWER COMPANY FOR SERVICE WORK. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND INSTALL ALL MATERIAL NOT PROVIDED BY THE POWER COMPANY. 13. NO HANDHOLES, POLES, OR JUNCTION BOXES SHALL BE LOCATED WITHIN THE SIDEWALK. 14. ALL STREET LIGHTING CONDUIT SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM OF 24 INCHES OF COVER, 15. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AS BUILT DRAWINGS AT COMPLETION OF PROJECT.
