O CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
1. Remove and salvage the following applicable ITS equipment: CCTV camera, camera pale, CC cabinet. ES
cabinets, VMS sign structure, VMS cabinet. HAR sign structure. HAR cabinet, ramp meter, service
cabinet, and transformer cabinet. Deliver To WSDOT NW Region Signal and ITS Maintenance Superintendent
per Special Provisions. Give notice tive business days prior to delivery. Remove all foundations
associated with the ITS equipment and restore area.
2. Maintain and protect existing transformer cabinet.
3. Install new 480V- 120/240V, transformer antl cabinet for ITS equipment per Transformer Details on ITD 17
and ITD 20 and Standard Specifications. See Illumination Plan for continuation of power.
4. Install one and leave one, for a total of two (2), new RuggedCom RMC40 Ethernet switches in the
cabinet. The switch left in the cabinet is for future use by WSDOT in the Tukwila Pky & Southcenter
Mall signal controller cabinet.
5. Install new RuggedCom RMC30 Serial -to- Ethernet converter in cabinet. Install serial his from the
converter to the C2 port on the 170 controller. Install CATG cable from RMC30 converter to RMC40.
6. Install new RuggedCom RMC40 Ethernet switch. Install 2 duplex FC -LC single -mode patch cords between
the patch panel and the RMC40 switch.
7. Install a new 12 -port patch panel and terminate 1 -6 SMFO cable from the Tukwila Hub preterminated patch
Panel stub in cable vault.
B. Install new Type 1 junction box outside of paved area per WSDOT Standard Plan J -lla and Standard
Specifications.
9. Install new 334 series ES control cabinet per ITS Details ITD 14, ITD 15 and 1T0 16 and Standard
Specifications. Installation shall include mounting the cabinet to its foundation. terminating power
cables, grounding the cabinet and terminating communications cables.
10. Install new communication hub per manufacturer's specifications and contract special provisions. See
ITO 18 far fiber patch panel installation. Furnish, disconnect and r ..a communication cables shown
on the ITS Distribution Diagram on ITD 3 and equipment listed in Special Provisions from the existing
Tukwila Hub then reinstall and reconnect in the new Tukwila Hub as directed by WSDOT ITS engineer.
Provide WSDOT ITS engineer 30 business days notice prior to relocating equipment.
11. Intercept existing open bottom 25TA communications vault with new conduit. Coil 50 -feet of 1 -6 SMFO
cable in vault for future installation into the signal cabinet by others.
12. Remove and dispose existing communication hub and all other equipment not salvaged. Backfill hole to
match existing grade.
13. Maintain and protect existing cable vault. Coil antl rack a minimum of 50 -feet of each new cable
Installed in cable vault.
14. Maintain and protect existing pull box. Coil and rack a minimum of SO -feet of each new cable installed
in pull box.
15. Remove and salvoge the existing camera control cabinet and install new camera controller cabinet and
Other accessories required to make the CCTV system functional per ITS Details on ITD 12 and ITO 13 and
Standard Specifications. Controller cabinet installation shall include mounting the cabinet on the
existing foundation, terminating power cables, grounding the cabinet and terminating communications
cables. Install video and data transmitter and single mode fiber optic patch cord from fiber optic
patch panel to transmitter.
16. Remove and dispose existing camera control cabinet and foundation and restore are..
17. Install the new conduits on unistrut anchored to the underside of the bridge deck south of the
southern most girder and install expansion and deflection fittings on bridge ends per ITS Details on
ITD 26 and ITD 27 and Standard Specifications.
18. Install new Type 2 junction box outside of paved area per WSOOT Standard Plan J -I1a and Standard
Specifications.
19. Install new Type 5 junction box or pull box with heavy duty lid per WSODT Standard Plan J -111b, J -15o
and Standard Specifications.
20. Install new pull box outside of paved area per WSDOT Standard Plan J-15a and Standard Specifications.
Coil and rack a minimum of 50 -feet of each new cable installed in pull box.
21. Install new cable vault with heavy duty lid per WSDOT Standard Plan J -15b and Standard Specifications.
Coil and rack a minimum of 50 -feet of each new cable installed in cable vault.

22. Install new Type R1 loop vehicle detectors in speed -trap configuration per ITS Details on ITD 6,
ITD 7. ITO 8 and Standard Specifications.
23. Install new Modified Wide Loop vehicle detectors per ITS Details on ITD 6, ITD 7, ITO 8 and
Standard Specifications.
24. Maintain and protect existing junction box.
25. Install a new 36 -port 20 patch panel and terminate 1 -12 SMFO cable from CC -611 and 1 -6 SMFO cable
from Tukwila Pky & Southcenter Mall signal.
26. Install new pull box with heavy duty lid per WSOOT Standard Plan J -15a and Standard
Specifications. Coil and rack a minimum of 50 -feet of each new cable installed in pull box.
27. Install new Type 4 junction box or pull box with heavy duty lid per WSOOT Standard Plan J -]lb,
J -15o and Standard Specifications.
28. Install new Type II Signal Pole with foundation, most arm. 2 signal heads. 2 signs, and all other
accessories required to make the Ramp Metering System functional per ITS Details on ITD 4 and
Standard Specifications.
29. Install new ramp metering stop bar passage and demand loops per ITS Details on ITD 6, ITD 7, ITO
8 and Standard Specifications.
30. Remove and salvage existing CCTV camera and install new camera by modifying existing pole to fit.
Camera shall have LPED base plate. Remove existing Tema box (terminal cabinet) from pole. Cover
up and seal with approved plugs or cover plates any openings in the pole. Drill a 1.75" hole
into the top of The pole for the camera cable. See Special Provisions for camera model.
31. Maintain and protect existing IS cabinet.
32. Instoll a new 54 -port patch panel and terminate 1 -12 SMFO lateral to ES -612D and mainline
distribution cable per Fiber Splice Detials.
33. Install new VMS on new sign bridge structure per Sign Structure No. 5 Details on MS7 and Standard
Specifications. See Signing Details for an additional guide sign on sign bridge structure.
34. Install new VMS and HAR sign on new sign bridge structure per FAR Details on ITD 23, Sign
Structure No. 11 Details on M59A and Standard Specifications. See Signing Details for an
additional guide sign on sign bridge structure.
35. Install the new conduits per Details on BR1, BR2. BR11 and Standard Specitications.
36. Install new Type RI loop vehicle detectors per ITS Details on ITD 6, ITD 7, ITD 8 and Standard
Specifications.
37. Install 2 duplex FC -LC single -mode patch cords between the patch panel in the camera control
cabinet and the RMC40 switch in the ES cabinet.
38. Install 334 cabinet per Special Provisions and Standard Specifications. Installation shall
include mounting the cabinet o n its foundation, terminating power cables, grounding the cabinet
and terminating communications cables.
39. Install foundation per Cabinet Foundation Details on ITD 29 and Standard Specifications.
40. Remove pull box and restore area.
41. Remove junction box and restore area.
42. Install new PAR sign /camera controller cabinet combo and other accessories required to make the
CCTV and HAR system functional per ITS Details on ITD 19 and Standard Specifications. Controller
cabinet installation shall include mounting the cabinet on its foundation, terminating power
cables, grounding the cabinet and terminating communications cables. Install video and data
transmitter and single mode fiber optic patch cord from fiber optic patch panel to transmitter.
43. Install advanced warning sign, flushing warning beacon, pole and foundation per WSDOT Standard
Plan J -la.
44. Install foundation per Cabinet Foundation Details on ITO 21 and Standard Specifications.
45. Install the new conduits on hangers between the first and second northern most girders per
utility Detail on 645 and Standard Specifications.
