HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 5266Amends ORD 5207 CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON ORDINANCE NO.5266 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,WASHINGTON AMENDING ORDINANCE NO.5207 BY CHANGING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF PHASE IT OF THE MERRITT n ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF RENTON (MERRITT n ANNEXATION;FILE NO.A-03-003) WHEREAS,Ordinance 5142 set the effective date of the Merritt II annexation to the City of Renton,Phase II of the annexation as twelve (12)months after the adoption of that ordinance;and WHEREAS,Ordinance 5142 became effective on June 1,2005,five days after its publication;and WHEREAS,Ordinance 5142 was amended on April 24,2006,by Ordinance No.5207, to make the effective date for implementation of Phase II of the Merritt II Annexation March 31, 2007;and WHEREAS,it is necessary to further extend the effective date of Phase II of the Merritt II annexation; NOW,THEREFORE,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I.Properties within Phase II (see Exhibit A)shall constitute a part of the City of Renton on December 31,2007,or 30 days after the awarding of the construction contract for the Duvall Avenue Improvement project,whichever comes first,and shall be subject 1 ORDINANCE NO.5266 to all its laws and ordinances then and thereafter in force and effect;the property being described as follows: See Exhibit A attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein.
