ORDINANCE NO. 4943
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
CHAPTER 9-14, VACATIONS, OF TITLE 9 (PUBLIC WAYS) OF ORDINANCE
NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF
RENTON, WASHINGTON" BY INDICATING IN SECTION 9-14-3 WHEN
ADDITIONAL NOTICE IS REQUIRED; DELETING SECTION 9-14-9; AND
RENUMBERING SECTIONS 9-14-10 AND 9-14-11.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 9-14-3 of Chapter 9-14, Vacations, of Title 9 (Public
Ways) of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton,
Washington" is hereby amended to read as follows:
HEARING, NOTICE REQUIRED:
A. After verification of the petition by the Planning/Building/Public Works
Administrator or duly authorized representative, the City Council shall by resolution fix the time
for the hearing on such petition, which time shall not be more than sixty (60) days nor less than
twenty (20) days after the passage of such resolution. Notice thereof shall be given as provided
for by RCW 35.79.020. Additional notice shall be required for vacation petitions of a developed
street. Notice shall be mailed to all property owners within a radius of three hundred feet (300')
of the proposed vacation area. The hearing shall be held before the City Council as provided for
in RCW 35.79.020, as amended.
SECTION II. Section 9-14-9 of Chapter 9-14, Vacations, of Title 9 (Public
Ways) of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton,
Washington" is hereby deleted and the remaining sections renumbered accordingly.
ORDINANCE NO. 4943
SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, approval, and
thirty days after publication.
