ORDINANCE NO. 4947
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
CHANGING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF CERTAIN
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY OF RENTON FROM THE P-l
(PUBLIC USE) ZONE TO RESIDENTIAL - 8 DU/AC (R-8) ZONE, WITH
A P-SUFFIX DESIGNATION. (RENTON WATER WELL NO. 5
REZONE, FILE NO. LUA-01-130,R,ECF.)
WHEREAS, under Section 4.2.020 of Chapter 2, Land Use Districts, of Title IV
(Development Regulations) of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton, Washington," as amended, and the maps and reports adopted in conjunction
therewith, the property hereinbelow described has heretofore been zoned as P-l (Public Use);
and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton initiated a proceeding for change of zone classification
of said property on or about September 6, 2001. This matter was duly referred to the Hearing
Examiner for investigation, study, and public hearing, and a public hearing having been held
thereon on or about November 6, 2001, and said matter having been duly considered by the
Hearing Examiner, and said zoning request having been recommended for approval without
conditions by the Hearing Examiner or by the Environmental Review Committee, and no
requests for reconsideration or appeals having been received during the appeal period that ended
December 26, 2001; and
WHEREAS, said zoning request being in conformity with the City's Comprehensive
Plan, as amended by Ordinance No. 4855, and the City Council having duly considered all
matters relevant thereto, and all parties having been heard appearing in support thereof or in
opposition thereto;

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The following described property in the City of Renton is hereby
rezoned to Residential - 8 du/ac (R-8) Zone, with a P-suffix designation, as hereinbelow
specified. The Economic Development, Neighborhoods, and Strategic Planning Administrator is
hereby authorized and directed to change the maps of the Zoning Ordinance, as amended, to
evidence said rezoning, to wit:
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if fully set forth herein.
(A City-owned 25,733 square foot Water Utility site located at 1650 NE 24th
Street, at the intersection of Jones Avenue NE and NE 24th Street.)
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, approval, and
five days after publication.

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
That portion of the Northwest quarter of Section 5, Township 23 North, Range 5 East, W.M., in
the City of Renton, King County, Washington, described as follows:
An unplatted parcel of land lying southerly of the plat of Eldon Acres, according to the plat
thereof, recorded in Volume 11 of Plats, Page 86, records of King County, Washington, northerly
of the northerly right-of-way margin of Second Avenue (NE 24th Street) as platted in CD.
Hilhnan's Lake Washington Garden of Eden, Div. 5, according to the plat thereof, recorded in
Volume 11 of Plats, Page 83, records of King County, Washington, and easterly of Sheldon
Avenue (Meadow Avenue N.);
LESS road; and
LESS the west 434 feet thereof.
