CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE NO. 4840
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTIONS 4-2-060.C AND E, 4-2-070.A AND B, AND 4-2-
080.A OF CHAPTER 2, LAND USE DISTRICTS, AND SECTION 4-11-160
OF CHAPTER 11, DEFINITIONS, OF TITLE 4 (DEVELOPMENT
REGULATIONS), OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF
GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON"
BY AMENDING THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION (RC) AND THE
RESIDENTIAL-1 DU/ACRE (R-l) ZONES AND ALLOWING EATING
AND DRINKING ESTABLISHMENTS IN REGIONAL PARKS AND
GOLF COURSES IN THE RESOURCE CONSERVATION (RC) AND
RESIDENTIAL-1 DU/ACRE (R-l) ZONES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Sections 4-2-060.C and 4-2-060.E of Chapter 2, Land Use Districts, of
Title 4 (Building Regulations), of Ordinance 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton, Washington" are hereby amended as shown on Attachment A which is hereby
incorporated.
SECTION II. Sections 4-2-070.A and 4-2-070.B of Chapter 2, Land Use Districts, of
Title 4 (Building Regulations), of Ordinance 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton, Washington" are hereby amended as shown on Attachment B which is hereby
incorporated.
SECTION III. Section 4-2-080. A of Chapter 2, Land Use Districts, of Title 4 (Building
Regulations), of Ordinance 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton,
Washington'' is hereby amended by changing the following conditions to read as follows:
7. Limited to locations within an existing or new golf course or regional park.

SECTION IV. Section 4-11-160, DEFINITIONS P, of Chapter 11, Definitions, of Title
4 (Building Regulations), of Ordinance 4260 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of
Renton, Washington" is hereby amended by adding the following definitions:
4-11-160 DEFINITIONS P:
PARKS, NEIGHBORHOOD. A combination playground and park designed primarily for non-
supervised, non-organized recreation activities. They are generally small in size. This definition
includes accessory uses normal and incidental to parks.
PARKS, COMMUNITY. Larger than neighborhood parks, these are designed for organized
activities and sports, although individual and family activities are also encouraged. Where there
are no neighborhood parks, the community park can serve this function. This definition includes
accessory uses normal and incidental to parks
PARKS, REGIONAL. Regional parks are large recreational areas that serve an entire city or
region and often include one specific use or feature that makes the park unique. This definition
includes accessory uses normal and incidental to parks.
SECTION V. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, approval, and five
days after its publication.
