RESOLUTION NO. 3563
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
RECOGNIZING THE SISTER CITY RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, OF THE UNITED STATES, AND
CUAUTLA, JALISCO, OF THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES.
WHEREAS, the City of Cuautla, Jalisco, of the United Mexican States, and the City of
Renton, Washington, of the United States of America, have recognized areas of collaboration in
social, cultural, and commercial contexts that will be of common interest; and
WHEREAS, those two cities wish to deepen their relationship by means of a sister city
relationship; and
WHEREAS, the establishment of mechanisms that contribute to the development and
strengthening of a framework of bilateral cooperation will be beneficial to both cities; and
WHEREAS, the two cities have signed a document entitled "Agreement of Sisterhood
between the Cities of Cuautla, Jalisco, of the United Mexican States, and Renton, Washington, of
the United States of America," and it being in the interests of the citizens of the City of Renton,
Washington, to formally acknowledge, in legislation, the existence of the sister city relationship;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above findings are true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The City Council of the City of Renton, Washington, in regular
meeting, duly assembled, do recognize the City of Cuautla, Jalisco, of the United Mexican States,
as a sister city of the City of Renton, Washington, of the United States of America.
RESOLUTION NO. 3563
SECTION III. The Agreement entitled "Agreement of Sisterhood between the
Cities of Cuautla, Jalisco, of the United Mexican States, and Renton, Washington, of the United
States of America," is hereby acknowledged and adopted and concurred with by the City Council
of the City of Renton, Washington, of the United States of America.
