RESOLUTION NO. 3533
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY AND THE
WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR
FUNDING TO DESIGN SHOULDER MOUNTED CANTILEVERS,
SIGNALS AND GATES ON LAKE WASHINGTON BOULEVARD AT
THE ENTRANCE TO GENE COULON PARK AND SIGN SUCH LATER
AGREEMENTS AS WOULD BE NECESSARY FOR FURTHER WORK,
INCLUDING CONSTRUCTION.
WHEREAS, it is necessary to install a crossing signal and do gate reconstruction along
with the roadway and intersection improvements associated with a development of the Southport
project; and
WHEREAS, there are Federal TEA-21 railroad crossing program grant funds available to
assist in some of this work; and
WHEREAS, the City has been awarded a grant in the amount of $180,000 under that
grant; and
WHEREAS, the grant funds are managed through the Washington State Department of
Transportation; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to document the terms and conditions under which the grant
funds are available to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASFLTNGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above findings are true and correct in all respects.

SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to enter into a
local agency agreement for preliminary engineering on the project to install shoulder mounted
cantilevers, signals and gates on Lake Washington Boulevard, and further to sign such other and
further agreements as necessary to complete to project, including an agreement for construction.
