RESOLUTION NO. 3483
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF THE SOUTHBOUND
LANE OF BURNETT AVENUE SOUTH BETWEEN SOUTH 2nd STREET
AND SOUTH 3rd STREET, FOR A PERIOD OF FOUR MONTHS,
DURING THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE RENTON TRANSIT CENTER.
WHEREAS, the construction of the Renton Transit Center on Burnett Avenue South
between South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street has been awarded and work has commenced; and
WHEREAS, due to the adjacent construction and open cut for the Metropolitan Place
Dally Homes Project there is little room to safely conduct traffic in each direction through the
area; and
WHEREAS, to facilitate this construction and allow for a safe condition for both vehicles
and pedestrians it is necessary to do this work under a temporary lane closure for southbound
traffic, detouring all southbound traffic one block to Logan Avenue South; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Code section 9-9-3 the City Council is to authorize such
closure by means of a Resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The City Council does hereby authorize the temporary closure of
the southbound lane of Burnett Avenue South between South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street for a
period of four months, from December 18, 2000 to April 17, 2001.
