RESOLUTION NO. 3 3 5 3
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE FOR
AN AQUATIC LANDS ENHANCEMENT ACCOUNT PROJECT TO THE
DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of Chapter 79.24.580, RCW, state funding assistance
has been authorized and made available to aid in financing the cost of acquiring land and the
construction of facilities for public access to, enhancement of, state-owned aquatic lands; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Renton considers it in the best public interest
to acquire an interest in certain property, to rehabilitate an quarter mile of Lake Washington
shoreline and create a City park and pathway all in the northern part of the City generally located
on Lake Washington across a tract of land commonly known as the Quendall Terminals parcel;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and correct in all respects.
SECTION II. The Mayor is hereby authorized to make formal application to the
Department of Natural Resources for an Aquatic Lands Enhancement Account Grant.
SECTION M. Any fund assistance so received shall be used in the acquisition and
rehabilitation of a quarter mile of Lake Washington shoreline and creation of a City park and
pathway all on land generally known as the Quendall Terminals parcel.
SECTION IV. The City's 50% matching share for the project will be derived from
General Account funds or from federal, state or local government grants or participation.

SECTION V. Any property acquired with financial aid through the Aquatic Lands Enhancement
Account will be maintained for the purpose of habitat protection and/or public access in
perpetuity and in accordance with the terms of the grant agreement approved by the Department
of Natural Resources.
SECTION VI. Any developed facilities financed through the Aquatic Land
Enhancement Account must be maintained by the City for 25 years or longer.
SECTION VII. This resolution shall become a part of a formal application to the
Department of Natural Resources.
SECTION VIII. Adequate notification has been given and opportunity provided for
public input.
