RESOLUTION NO. 3185
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, CALLING
FOR THE ANNEXATION, BY ELECTION, OF CONTIGUOUS
UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY LYING IN AN AREA GENERALLY
BOUNDED BY THE CITY OF RENTON CORPORATE BOUNDARY, 152ND
AVENUE S.E. AND THE BURNSTEAD ANNEXATION, AND COMMONLY
KNOWN AS THE MAPLEWOOD HEIGHTS ANNEXATION.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has received a Petition for
Annexation from the residents of the area generally known as
Maplewood Heights; and
WHEREAS, King County has verified the signatures on the petition
and determined that there are sufficient valid signatures within the
petition to satisfy the loo requirement in RCW 35A. 14 . 020 ; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is desirous to call an election for
this annexation;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The best interests and general welfare of the
City of Renton would be served by the annexation of contiguous
unincorporated territory lying generally in the area bounded by City
of Renton corporate boundary, 152nd Avenue S .E. and the Burnstead
annexation as legally described in Attachment "A" hereto which is
incorporated by reference as if fully set forth.
SECTION III . As nearly as can be determined the number of
voters residing in the aforesaid territory is 1, 616 .
RESOLUTION NO . 3185 -
SECTION IV. The City Council hereby calls for an election to
be held pursuant to Chapter 35A. 14 RCW to submit to the voters of the
aforesaid territory the proposal for annexation.
SECTION V. There shall also be submitted to the electorate
of the territory sought to be annexed a proposition that all property
located within the territory to be annexed shall, upon annexation, be
assessed and taxed at the same rate and on the same basis as property
located within the City of Renton is assessed and taxed to pay for
all or any portion of the outstanding indebtedness of the City of
Renton, which indebtedness has been approved by the voters,
contracted for, or incurred prior to or existing at, the date of
annexation.
SECTION VI. The cost of said annexation election shall be
paid by the City of Renton.
SECTION VII. The City Clerk shall file a certified copy of
this Resolution with the Board of County Commissioners of King
County, Washington and with the King County Boundary Review Board.
SECTION VIII . The City Clerk shall also file with the King
County Boundary Review Board a Notice of Intention hereof as required
by RCW 36 . 93 . 090 et sec .

Beginning at the northeast corner of the south half of the northeast quarter of the northwest quarter of said
Section 15, said quarter corner being a point on the existing City Limits of Renton as annexed by
Ordinance#4470;
Thence southerly along the east line of the northwest quarter of said Section 15 to an intersection with the
westerly projection of the southerly Right-of-Way line of SE 132nd Street;
Thence easterly along said westerly projection and southerly Right-of-Way line, crossing 140th Avenue SE
and 142nd Avenue SE,to an intersection with the westerly Right-of-Way line of,144th Avenue SE;
Thence southerly along said westerly line, crossing SE 136th Street, to an intersection with the westerly
projection of the north line of the south half of the northeast quarter of the southeast quarter of said Section
15;
Thence easterly, along said westerly projection and north line, crossing said 144th Avenue SE, to the
northeast corner of said subdivision, said northeast corner also being the northwest corner of the south half
of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of said Section 14;
Thence continuing easterly, along the north line, of the south half of the northwest quarter of the southwest
quarter of said Section 14, and its easterly projection, crossing 152nd Avenue SE, to an intersection with
the easterly Right-of-Way line of said 152nd Avenue SE;
Thence southerly along said easterly Right-of-Way line, crossing SE 142nd Street and SE 144th Street to
an intersection with the southerly Right-of-Way line of said SE 144th Street, being a point on the south line
of said Section 14;
Thence westerly along said south line to the northeast corner of the west half of the northwest quarter of
said Section 23;
Thence southerly along the east line of said west half, to an intersection with the northerly Right-of-Way
line of J. E. Jones Road;
Thence northwesterly along said northerly Right-of-Way line to an intersection with the northerly Right-of-
Way line of SE Jones Place;
Thence northwesterly and southwesterly along said northerly Right-of-Way line and its southwesterly
