RESOLUTION NO. 3236
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, SETTING A
HEARING DATE TO VACATE A PORTION OF MAPLE VALLEY HIGHWAY
EAST .OF BLAINE DRIVE S.E. (RAMAC, INC./RIVIERA APARTMENTS,
VAC-96-005) .
WHEREAS, a.. Petition has been filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Renton on or about October 22, 1996, pursuant to the
requirements of RCW 35 . 79, petitioning for the vacation of a portion
of a certain street, as hereinafter more particularly described, and
said petition having been signed by the owners of more than two-
thirds (2/3) of the property abutting upon a portion of said street
sought to be vacated, and same being described as follows :
See Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as if
fully set forth herein.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. That the 13th day of January, 1997, at the hour
of 7 :30 P.M. at the City Council Chambers in the Municipal Building,
Renton, King County, Washington, be and is hereby fixed as the time
and place when the aforesaid Petition for vacating the aforesaid
portion of Maple Valley Highway east of Blaine Drive S .E. shall be
heard and determined, which said hearing date is not more than sixty
nor less than twenty days from the date of passage of this
Resolution.
RESOLUTION NO. 3236
SECTION II. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to give notice of said time and hearing as provided in RCW 35 . 79 . 020
and any and/or all persons interested therein or objecting to said
vacation •may then appear and be heard thereon, or they may file
their written objections thereto with the City Clerk at or prior to
the time of hearing on said vacation.
SECTION III. The City Council shall determine, as provided in
RCW 35 .79 .030, as to whether an appraisal shall be secured to
determine the fair market value of the property sought to be vacated
as provided for in Ordinance No. 4266, and the amount of
compensation to be paid by the Petitioner-Owners to the City for
such vacation but which said amount shall not exceed one-half (1/2)
of the appraised value of the area to be vacated.
The City likewise reserves the right to retain an easement for
public utility and related purposes .

That portion of Government Lot 8, in the southeast quarter of Section 17, Township 23 North, Range 5
East,W.M., in King County,Washington being more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the intersection of the east line of said Government Lot 8 and the southwesterly line of
Maple Valley Highway, SR 169, in its configuration prior to the condemnation action King County
Superior Court Cause 761406;
Thence northwesterly along said southwesterly line of the Maple Valley Highway, to an intersection with a
line 117.94 feet westerly of and parallel with said east line of Government Lot 8;
Thence continuing northwesterly along said southwesterly line of the Maple Valley Highway 49.54 feet;
Thence S 01°14'13"W 117.96 feet to the True Point of Beginning;
Thence S 56°43'47"E 50.80 feet,to an intersection with said line 117.94 feet westerly of and parallel with
the east line of said Government Lot 8;
Thence southerly along said line 69.91 feet, to the southerly line of that parcel relinquished to the City of
Renton by State of Washington Highway Commission Deed recorded under King County Recording
Number 7609010680;
Thence westerly along said southerly line 60.73 feet,to the southwest corner of said relinquished parcel;
Thence northerly 88.13 feet, more or less, along the west line of said relinquished parcel, to the True Point
of Beginning.
