RESOLUTION NO. 3105
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AN INTERLOCAL
COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF METROPOLITAN
SERVICES (METRO) FOR COMMUTE TRIP REDUCTION ACT PLANNING
AND IMPLEMENTATION.
WHEREAS, local governments are required by the Commute Trip
Reduction Act to develop and implement plans to reduce vehicle miles
traveled per employee and single-occupant vehicle commute trips; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has one or more major employers and
is required by the Act to develop and implement a Commute Trip
Reduction Plan; and
WHEREAS, local jurisdictions are to coordinate their plans and
have their plans . be consistent with adjacent jurisdictions and
applicable regional plans; and
WHEREAS, the City can achieve cost efficiencies and
administrative consistency by contracting with METRO for commute trip
reduction implementations;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized to
enter into an interlocal cooperative agreement with the Department of
Metropolitan Services (Metro) to assist the City in implementing the
Commute Trip Reduction Act.
