RESOLUTION NO. 3135
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO- AN
AGREEMENT 'FOR EMERGENCY SALE OF WATER BETWEEN THE CITY OF
RENTON AND THE CITY OF KENT.
WHEREAS, the South Puget Sound area periodically experiences
.water . supply shortfall; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton and the City of Kent maintain their
own water systems; and
WHEREAS, the two cities recognize the public benefits of
cooperation and collaborative problem solving; and
WHEREAS, the two cities are willing to sell water to one
another in an emergency; and
WHEREAS, the terms of such sale are memorialized in a document
entitled "Agreement for the Emergency Sale of Water Between the City
of Renton and the City of Kent" ;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an agreement for the emergency sale of water between
the City of Renton and the City of Kent
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 26th day of June , 1995 .
