ORDINANCE NO. 243..
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING A METHOD IN WEIGH PRIVATE DRAINS
SHALL BE-CONNECTED WITH PUBLIC SEWERS IN THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHING-
TON AID PROVIDING A PENALTY FOE VIOLATION HEREOF.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO

.Section. I: That hereafter any personjs^ping to connect
or have connected any private drain or seYrer^telrafii pjriflic sewer,
or sewer "built or owned or controlled byVbjjj!^ci/^,<>M»iall first
apply to and obtain a written permi'Vtfrom ,the>*tfity engineer therefor,
whose duty it shall be to pr^grclj^bti' tl^taode of tapping the public
sewers, the size of the openinga"|i§|jle therein, and the materials to
be used in such connections. %J The person obtaining such permit shall
present the same to the superintendent of streets for to such other
person as shall be appointed by the mayor for that purpose)* under
whose direction and supervision the work of making such.sewer connec-
tion shall be done.
Section III Whoever shall violate, or shall fail to
comply with any of the requirements of Section I hereof, in connecting
any private drain or sewer with any public sewer, or sewer built or
owned or operated by the city shall be subject to a penalty of not less
than Five ($5,001.'Dollars or more than One hundred ($100.00) Dollars
for each offense, or imprisonment for not more than thirty (30) days.
Section III: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five (5) days from and after its passage, approval and legal
publication.
