RESOLUTION NO. 3146
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT
BETWEEN THE STATE OF WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY,
TRADE AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND THE CITY OF RENTON FOR
FUNDING FOR'THE MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL NARCOTICS TASK FORCE
PROGRAM FOR 1995-1996 .
WHEREAS, the Police Department of the City of Renton is a
member of the South King County Narcotics Task Force and serves as
the contracting agency for that Drug Task Force; and
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of
Justice Assistance, provides funding to the State of Washington
Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development under the
..Anti-Drug Abuse Act of 1990 ; .and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Community, Trade and Economic
Development wishes to contract with the City of Renton to provide
these federal funds for the operation of the Multi-Jurisdictional
Narcotics Task Force Program through the use of an agreement
between the State of Washington Department of Community, Trade and
Economic Development and the City of Renton for the contract period
July 1, 1995 through June 30, 1996; and
WHEREAS, such agreement would be in the best interests of the
citizens of the City of Renton.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .

SECTION II. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized
to enter into an agreement between the State of Washington
Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development and the
City of Renton to provide funds to the City for its participation
in the Multi-Jurisdictional Narcotics Task Force Program for the
contract period July 1, 1995 to June 30, 1996 .
