RESOLUTION NO. 3151
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, EXTENDING
A MORATORIUM ON THE PERMITTING OF ADULT ENTERTAINMENT
USES.
WHEREAS, the City of Renton adopted a moratorium on the
permitting of adult entertainment uses at its City Council meeting
on May 1, 1995 ; and
WHEREAS, the City of Renton is participating with other
municipalities in drafting an adult entertainment ordinance; and
WHEREAS, that ordinance is not presently ready for adoption
although significant time and effort has been spent in its
drafting; and
WHEREAS, the reasons for adopting the original moratorium
still exist;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The City Council hereby declares a moratorium
on the issuance of any permit or license to conduct an adult
entertainment business within the City of Renton for a period of
six months from adoption of this ordinance to allow for study and
possible amendment to its adult entertainment ordinances . Should
the amendatory ordinances be adopted prior to the expiration of six
months, then this moratorium shall likewise expire upon the
effective date of any amendatory ordinance .
