RESOLUTION NO. 3070
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF GARDEN AVENUE NORTH
FOR SOIL REMEDIATION WORK.
WHEREAS, the Department of Ecology and the City have
previously determined that certain soil remediation activity must
be undertaken in Garden Avenue North; and
WHEREAS, the City, as owner of the property located within the
right-of-way of Garden Avenue North, is potentially responsible for
the soil remediation; and
WHEREAS., PACCAR, as the generator of the contaminants being
removed, has agreed to remediate the soil at its expense; and
WHEREAS, the removal of the existing contaminated soils and
replacement of utilities, backfill and pavement will necessitate
the temporary closure of Garden Avenue North between its
intersection with North 4th Street and its intersection with North
5th Street; and
WHEREAS, that work has been scheduled between August 1, 1994
and October 31, 1994 to .minimize interference with traffic; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to City Code Section 9-9-3 the City Council
is to authorize such closures by means of a Resolution;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON,
WASHINGTON, DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I. The above recitals are found to be true and
correct in all respects .
SECTION II. The City Council does hereby authorize the
closure of Garden Avenue North between its intersection with North

4th Street and its intersection with North 5th Street for a period
of approximately three (3) months .
